Page moves
[edit]Please stop making them. Read Wikipedia:Disambiguation and have an understanding of how disambiguation works before moving any more. —Xezbeth (talk) 13:18, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Xezbeth: But my moves where I added (surname) after the word were okay, right? Holy Goo (talk) 15:19, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- No, there is no other topic besides the surname for the term "Goodier", making the surname de facto primary topic so there is no need for a disambiguator. —Xezbeth (talk) 15:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Simpler language
[edit]For medical articles we work to write the WP:leads, if not the entire article, as simply as possible without introducing errors. English Wikipedia is a global encyclopedia used extensively by many who speak English as a second language. We therefore try to use common words as well as short sentences. See here for more details. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:40, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Doc James "Chemical composition" is not a complex or excessively technical term at all. Having "what they are made of" linking to "chemical composition" is too much dumbing down. Holy Goo (talk) 18:46, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- It was fine how it was IMO. The leads of our articles should be written in relatively easy to understand English so that they are easily accessible to those who speak English as a second language. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:20, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Crisis article
[edit]I put sources for the infobox showing that the protests increased. I think the "internal condemnation" means the few government officials that disagreed with the move. Not trying to edit war just wanted to let you know!--ZiaLater (talk) 17:59, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Protest articles
[edit]Hey Goo Goo! I wanted to let you know that I am planning to split up the 2014–17 Venezuelan protests into separate articles, the 2014 Venezuelan protests, 2015 Venezuelan protests, 2016 Venezuelan protests and 2017 Venezuelan protests. The protest movement has been very fluid since the start in 2014, it began with waves just generally dissatisfied in 2014, food protests in 2015, recall and election protests in 2016 and now protests against what they call a dictatorship in 2017. Protests have been happening daily for years now and the original article cannot hold all that information anymore. So that is why I am making separate articles. Timeline articles will still exist to give details of day-to-day protests.
So eventually, the Mother of All Protests will be part of the "2017 Venezuelan protests" article, which will be part of the 2014–17 Venezuelan protests article. It'll all be linked up in the lede and the infobox so readers can follow to trail to find information. Does this sound like a good idea? I might do it in a few days or weeks since it will be quite the undertaking, but I think it'll be worth it since the original article is so dense right now. Spreading it out will make its encyclopedic quality so much higher.--ZiaLater (talk) 19:03, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @ZiaLater: If the articles 2014–17 Venezuelan protests and Mother of All Protests will continue to exist, I think it's OK to create articles that are more specific, and then add "main article" hatnotes linking to the new pages. The article 2014-17 Venezuelan protests does in fact lack precision, but I didn't know if I could do anything about it. Good luck. Holy Goo (talk) 19:28, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- I noticed that the 2014-17 Venezuelan protests article did lack that precision. A lot of it is focused on the 2014 protests and small mentions of protests in the other years. However, 2017 seems to be ramping up into a big one too...--ZiaLater (talk) 19:33, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @ZiaLater: But the article must be kept, because the protests are all related to the Maduro government. Add brief descriptions of the protests in separate sections and add the "main article" hatnotes linking to the new pages. Go ahead. However, I think it's still a bit early to create the article 2017 Venezuelan protests, as it will basically be a duplication of the Mother of All Protests. Holy Goo (talk) 19:37, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not going to delete anything. There will actually be more, just with some of the information spread to other articles. For the 2017 protest article, I think we might have enough there as well, but in the next few days/weeks it will take me to do this, things might change. Last night was pretty bad.--ZiaLater (talk) 19:42, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @ZiaLater: Just out of curiosity, are you Venezuelan, or currently living in Venezuela? Holy Goo (talk) 19:49, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- Can't comment on that one. But I am a woman, so there's that. I don't know why some people seem to get that confused.--ZiaLater (talk) 19:51, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- @ZiaLater: It's ok if you don't want to answer the question, but I didn't use any word that implied gender. Holy Goo (talk) 19:55, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- Can't comment on that one. But I am a woman, so there's that. I don't know why some people seem to get that confused.--ZiaLater (talk) 19:51, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Image deletion
[edit]Hello. I want to address your comments at the Wikimedia Commons and in this edit summary.
I nominated the image for deletion because of a sincere belief that it lacked appropriate licensing information. I took no pleasure in this and would have preferred an outcome in which the missing evidence was found and the image was kept. My objective is to help maintain the repository's legality (without which it wouldn't be sustainable), not to eliminate access to media.
Regarding the comment that I had "nothing better to do", you might not have noticed that I uploaded the replacement image's current version. I took the time to seek out a higher-resolution copy and enhance it in Adobe Photoshop – a process involving fairly intricate work across multiple layers. I did so because I wanted to ensure that our documentation of the event contained the best images possible.
I sincerely hope that you recognize my intent (even if you disagree with my actions) and that our future interactions occur in the context of collegial collaboration. —David Levy 04:24, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
- @David Levy: I do recognize your intent. I am very sorry for being rude. Honestly, I was angrier at the fact that Commons had stricter rules than I thought. I am sorry for assuming you had bad intentions. Thanks a lot, and I hope we continue to contribute to articles seeking to report all the chaos and injustice that is going on in Venezuela under Maduro. I am Brazilian, with relatives living in Venezuela, and I'm helping to spread the information by translating to portuguese many articles about current events in Venezuela. I am sorry. Peace. Holy Goo (talk) 05:19, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
I finally did it...
[edit]I finally created the 2014 Venezuelan protests article. Take a look at it and make changes if you'd like. If you think some thing should be removed from the 2014–17 Venezuelan protests and placed in the 2014 Venezuelan protests article, go ahead and try that too, the 2014–17 article needs some slimming down.--ZiaLater (talk) 09:54, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
- @ZiaLater: Nice. Yes, much of the content needs to be removed, since both articles are very similar. Also, there should be a link to the 2014 protests article somewhere, as a hatnote of a section. Holy Goo (talk) 11:04, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
- I'd prefer trying to transfer some of the notable things. I'll begin adding some info for 2015-2017 eventually.--ZiaLater (talk) 11:55, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Covfefe
[edit]Can you stop deleting covfefe from Template:Donald Trump? It is an actual sub page of Donald Trump's use of social media. You can delete it IF the page is deleted. – Nixinova (talk • edits) 21:47, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Nixinova: It is just dumb, can't you see that? Just forget covefefe, man. And don't add images that are copyvios or I'll tag them for speedy deletion again. Holy Goo (talk) 21:49, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
- I can understand wanting to forget covfefe, but all of meaning and interpretation? Are you sure you want to go that far? I'm fine with it if you insist. Mainly didn't want to see one without the other. InedibleHulk (talk) 02:50, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
- @InedibleHulk: Covfefe is just a typo in a social media. It is not filosophical in any way at all. But don't worry because the article will be deleted or will be merged. Holy Goo (talk) 04:03, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
- The word itself is just a typo, the rest of the bullshit is almost entirely meaning and interpretation. But yeah, no worries. I argued to delete the whole thing, too. InedibleHulk (talk) 17:01, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

[edit]I changed the section header you created. With regard to the title you chose and some of what you wrote there, please focus on content when you work on article talk pages. Please see WP:TPG as well as WP:NPA. This is also just common sense; successful editing relies on persuading others that your proposals are well-aligned with WP policies and guidelines, and since focusing on contributors is not aligned with the policies and guidelines you shoot yourself in the foot. Speedy deletion nomination of Mike pence
[edit]Do not create articles about living people that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative, unreferenced biographies of living people are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Under section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy may be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Non-free rationale for File:Novo30.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Novo30.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:30, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Manterrupting
[edit]Hello, Holy Goo,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Isingness and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Manterrupting should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Manterrupting .
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Isingness}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Neue Deutsche Härte, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Erbach (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
[edit]Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!

Availability
[edit]Hi, my availability will be sporadic and unpredictable for the next four weeks. I'll be around some of the time, but may not always respond in a timely manner. If you need me urgently, please email me through the website. Hopefully you can carry on with the Draft, while I'm in slow mode. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 11:16, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
- Mathglot, Sure. I've also been struggling to find some time, and when I'm finally free and willing to translate, the "internet cafe", as you said, decides not to open. I will try to translate at least one section per day (from tomorrow on). And to think that I still have the article about the economic crisis to translate... everything will take longer than expected. Translating is a challenging task. --Bageense(disc.) 22:11, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
- Mathglot, Once again, I forgot that "tomorrow" was Sunday. Well, I've translated a section now.
- You haven't replied to me... are you interested in helping me translate the economic crisis article? Or just review my translation? I need an answer because I don't think I can do that alone... I'm not sure. I'd probably give up on the idea. But it's ok if you're not interested, this is all voluntary work. --Bageense(disc.) 16:06, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- Yes but not for several weeks. Mathglot (talk) 22:37, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Franco Volpi (philosopher)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Franco Volpi (philosopher), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Math Lady, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Portuguese.
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:22, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
An article you recently created, Math Lady, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Sérgio Moro
[edit]A tag has been placed on Sérgio Moro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
his name has no diacritic
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Pindorama
--Bageense(disc.) 12:24, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
