Recent changes
- You can use the new termbox interface if you edit Wikidata on a mobile device. This is to edit labels, descriptions and aliases easier on the mobile pages. [1]
The new version of MediaWiki has been deployed during the last week.- The previously announced change of positions of the "Wikidata item" link on all wikis has been rollbacked due to unexpected cache issues. [2]
- The limit for rollbacks has been increased from 10 to 100 rollbacks per minute. [3]
- The advanced version of the edit review pages (Recent Changes, Watchlist, and Related Changes) now include two new filters. These filters are for "All contents" and "All discussions". They will filter the view to just those namespaces. However the "All discussions" filter does not include pseudo talk pages, like discussions that are in the Project: or Wikipedia: namespaces. But it will include changes happening on Project talk: or the Wikipedia talk:. [4]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 3 September. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 4 September. It will be on all wikis from 5 September (calendar).
- When you log in, the software checks your password to see if it follows the Password policy. From this week, it will also complain if your password is one of the most common passwords in the world. If your password is not strong enough, please consider to change your password for a stronger password. [5]

Technical news
- Editors using the mobile website on Wikipedia can opt-in to new advanced features via your settings page. This will give access to more interface links, special pages, and tools.

- A request for comment is open to provide an opportunity to amend the structure, rules, and procedures of the 2019 English Wikipedia Arbitration Committee election and to resolve any issues not covered by existing rules.

- A global request for comment is in progress regarding whether a user group should be created that could modify edit filters across all public Wikimedia wikis.
Copyvio-revdel URL
Hello. I see you've placed a {{copyvio-revdel}} on User talk:77.216.110.99, but have added a tools.wmflabs.org URL as the |url=. The URL stated should be "The url of the site the article was in infringement of, or a text explanation of where the source(s) can be verified." (quoting the template's docs). - Fred Gandt, hello! So here's the thing - I actually can't link to the site that's being infringed upon. The URL it's infringing is on (or at least the one that the copyvio detector flags) is on the spam blacklist (the domain name contains the words "script," "o," and "rama") , so I can't even post it in a revdel request. I put the wmflabs URL in there in hopes that whichever admin came by to do the revdel would at least click through to see what the report said. Any suggestions on a better way to communicate that? creffpublic a creffett franchise (talk to the boss) 15:02, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
- Maybe email an admin? Right now, the actual URL shows "No Violation 0.0% confidence" with "No sources checked." so is about as useful as a chocolate teapot, and the "(Duplication Detector report · Copyvios report)" reports can't function as expected. Ad Orientem is a notably helpful admin you could try.
