Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Turkish language, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oghuz (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

When you tag an article for a problem with an image, such as adding Category:Articles with images not understandable by color blind users, please be sure to state which image(s) are the problem. If there is no specific ones listed in the edit-summary or talkpage, other editors are forced to spend time re-determining what you already know (and might not even notice the problems you did) rather than actually fixing the problems. Ideally there might be a way to tag images themselves (rather than, or in addition to, the articles that contain them), but I don't see a template for that. DMacks (talk) 16:52, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- ...which spawned this idea/discussion: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Accessibility#Tagging images for color problems. As someone seemingly interested in this issue, I'd welcome your input about it. DMacks (talk) 18:51, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Help with small updates to biography article?
[edit]Hi Frans Fowler, about a year ago now you helped with fixing some links to the Michael Birkin (executive) article and I'm wondering if you might be able to take a look at a quick edit request for that page? It looks like you tend to focus on small edits and the updates needed here and pretty small; I've laid out the details in a request on the Talk page. I'm working on behalf of Mr. Birkin, so I do have a conflict of interest and am looking for an editor to review these updates and make them in the article if they look ok. Would you have a little time to look at this? Thanks! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 03:03, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

I was interested to read you have fond memories of the tram, and wondered what they were, when they were, what it is/was that led you to mention them, and why. (If you hadn't realised/didn't know, I very deliberately chose to live on the tramline.) If you prefer, reply by email. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 09:59, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Neves pronounciation (European Portuguese pronounciation)
[edit]Hello, Frans. You're wellcome.
About Neves pronounciation: since he is a portuguese soccer player (and not a brazilian one) your pronounciation is correct. The final "s" in Portugal is pronounced as in "shame". The final "s" in Brazil is pronounced as in "same". The second "e" is not pronounced at all in Portugal, but in Brazil it is pronounced as in "see". So, thumbs up to you!
Hope this helps. Mdob (talk) 22:47, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
PS. The stress of Neves is on the first syllable: Ne'ves — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mdob (talk • contribs) 22:49, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
FYI
[edit]Regarding your edit at Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, please see: http://www.nmfcgs.com/Casket_vs._Coffin.html for a brief comparision. "Casket" is not an American English equivalent of "coffin", they have a different design for the same purpose. Both terms are actually of Middle English origin. Sporting club names
[edit]I've done some work at User:Andrewa/RfC on sporting club names and on its talk page... see what you think. Best not to rush it.
In particular, there's a spot at User talk:Andrewa/RfC on sporting club names#RMs for linking to past RMs where adding or removing fullstops has been an issue. It would be good to look at some examples, and see whether this proposal would have helped. Andrewa (talk) 07:24, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited R v Bow Street Metropolitan Stipendiary Magistrate, ex parte Pinochet, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Divisional court (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Riane Eisler
[edit]Hello. Regarding your use of external links in the body of Riane Eisler, please see Wikipedia:External Links. The use of external links in the body of articles is deprecated and was phased out more than a decade ago. If you want to link to an article, use wiki links (double brackets) or link using references. Thanks. For more help, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking. Viriditas (talk) 22:59, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you, Viriditas; it weren't me, honest! But I've gone through the article and removed all the external links I could find in the body, added one of them to the External links, and made a couple of other little changes. Better now? --Frans Fowler (talk) 02:52, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

AfD Interbrand
[edit]Hi Frans Fowler, currently the article Interbrand has been nominated as AfD. I've seen that you have been involved in discussing notability of the topic once before and thought that you might have an opinion on this. Imo notability of the topic is not in doubt, while the article itself needs improvement. I'd be very interested in your opinion. Thank you! --Microhierax (talk) 09:33, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you, Microhierax. I can't remember being involved in the past (I must be getting old!), but I've added three ha'p'orth to the deletion discussion. Frans Fowler (talk) 07:26, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Singing Girl (disambiguation)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Singing Girl (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hitro talk 15:27, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
