Your submission at Articles for creation: Fundacion Orguyo Aruba (February 11)
[edit]
- Hi guys, Is it possible to give examples of what is not sufficient with the article? I have tried to gather as many published sources and still get rejection. At the same time, I am getting email on another account of a branding company that can help with this submission. Is this Wikipedia a commercial page? I want to know this, as I have been donating all this time. I will stop this. EgmarIrausquin (talk) 14:48, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- The email will almost certainly be a scam do not part with any money. Theroadislong (talk) 14:56, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello EgmarIrausquin. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:EgmarIrausquin. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=EgmarIrausquin|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 15:02, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- No, I do not get direct or indirect compensation for anything related to this foundation. It is a non - profit foundation, for 6 years already, and all people involved are doing this because of activism and totally voluntary. And it happens that I, Egmar Irausquin, is a designer. No compensation has been given ever. EgmarIrausquin (talk) 15:16, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- It's possible to be employed by a non-profit and editing as part of your job duties- but, you are saying you aren't employed by the non-profit? 331dot (talk) 15:22, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- No, not employed by non-profit. EgmarIrausquin (talk) 15:27, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. 331dot (talk) 15:31, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

As I said before, you claim to have personally created the logo and personally own the copyright to it. Is that the case? By uploading it to Commons you have made it available for anyone to use for any purpose with attribution(this includes competitors). For example, someone could take the logo, print it on clothing, and sell it, and your company would not be entitled to any money from the sale of its own logo. 331dot (talk) 15:04, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- I responded to your post at the help desk- so that's resolved, but you will still need to declare as a paid editor. 331dot (talk) 15:12, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- It is not a company, it is a non-profit organization, with no employees. And is not entitled to any money from sales, as its articles of association of a foundation (notary papers) does not allow that. (no sale/no business purpose etc.) EgmarIrausquin (talk) 15:31, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- I understand, since you actually created the logo, that's resolved. 331dot (talk) 15:36, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, would you mind telling me how to move forward now? since that is resolved? what else is an issue? thank you. EgmarIrausquin (talk) 15:52, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- In terms of the draft, rejection means that it's the end of the road for the draft, at least at this time. If you can edit the draft to address the concerns of reviewers, the first step is to appeal directly to the reviewer that rejected the draft.
- I would say that the "Mission and objectives" section should just be removed; Wikipedia is not interested in what an organization considers to be its own mission and what it says its objectives are. The bulk of the draft describes a court case, but says little about the organization's particular influence on the case. The "impact" section gives broad outlines but has no sources that discuss its particular impact. I'd look at some other articles on similar organizations(maybe GLAAD) to get an idea of what is being looked for. Less about the structure of the organization and more about its actual impact or influence. 331dot (talk) 16:08, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Your user page is not article space or space to draft an article. You are welcome to edit the existing draft. 331dot (talk) 18:41, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... I am the founder and an active board member of the foundation. I am also a designer. There for I designed the logo of the foundation. All of this was voluntary. I am not getting paid, or i am not a employee of the foundation. I do not get paid for anything. all of this is voluntary. I Have already have this discussion with other reviewers. --EgmarIrausquin (talk) 18:54, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- That's not the issue, as I said above, your user page is not space to write an article or draft. You are free to edit your existing draft. 331dot (talk) 18:56, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- ok thanks. EgmarIrausquin (talk) 18:59, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
