#wikipedia-it-vandalism
[edit]Hi Coolcat, the chan is really great! I have a little request, can you whitelist it:Utente:ZeroBot since it is a bot belonging to it:Utente:Paginazero (admin on it.wiki). He is using the bot to insert articles about films and they get detected as possible copyvio, but they're not and it's hard to see the real possible vandalism messages. Thanks a lot. --Cruccone 23:30, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

Cambridge
[edit]Quite frankly, I have no time to do this and would rather you placed it back on en.wikipedia. It was taken years ago and I can barely remember which friend took it - if it's a friend I haven't talked to in a while, it would seem rather silly to contact him over this. Hi, I found this website which is identically to the page. It seems they copied wikipedia (date is 23 July 2005), but there's no note on their website. Can you check? Thanks Cruccone 22:49, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- You appear to be correct, but I'm not sure what you want me to check. I wrote that page based on the References listed, so it's apparent they copied it from us. I do not know of a procedure to use when we find people have copied our text without proper attribution. I have seen other instances of it. Hal Jespersen 00:56, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
the REAL name: Trentino-Alto Adige
[edit]So I did some research and checked with some pretty credible sources as to what they print, in ENGLISH, for the name of this region (and province) in Italy.
- Fodor's - a well recognized and respected name (and expert guide) has regional and local publications that show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bolzano".
- Michelin - also expert in travel guides - has regional and local publications that show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bozen".
- Rand McNally (name speaks for itself) has world, regional, and local publications that show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bolzano".
- Streetwise Map's regional, and local publications show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bolzano".
- Dorling Kindersley or "DK" - by far, probably the best travel guides available - has regional and local publications that show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bolzano".
- Lonely Planet (the self-proclaimed largest independently-owned travel guide) regional, and local publications show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bolzano".
- Hammond Map - a subsidiary of Langenscheidt Publishing Group (a privately-held German publishing company) - has regional and local publications that show the region and local names of "Trentino-Alto Adige", "Alto Adige", and "Bolzano".
As far as proof, I am quite sure that the above sources are credible enough, especially in the sense of geographical knowledge, expertise, and English-translation. Rarelibra 03:59, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Actually I take back my statement. I did not initially see that some of the material from the article was taken from that website. I don't want to speedy delete it, but I will go ahead and fix it up. Nishkid64 20:06, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hey there, thanks I hope so too. Because it always turn so ugly and it's unnecessary and hurts people's emotions IMO. Gryffindor 22:14, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Age category
[edit]Hello! If you are receiving this message, that means that your user page is in a specific year category. Per a recent user-category per deletion, all specific year categories are to be deleted. If you wish to continue using year categories, you have two options:
- Using an age group category, such as Category:Wikipedians in their 30s
- Using a decade category, such as Category:Wikipedians born in the 1970s.
If you wish, you may do both. Hopefully, this change in categorization will be quick and painless. Happy editing! --An automated message from MessedRobot 12:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I noticed your question regarding the Domitianus coin on the template talk page of PD-Art, and have "moved" the discussion over to copyright questions here. I hope this issue can be sorted once and for all. --Steerpike 23:43, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

[edit]Your article at Mater Domini Monastery was full of POV and irrelevant material (such all the part regarding the "historical background", which is appropriate in a magazine article, not in an encyclopedia where those informations are elsewhere).
