File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Sidewaysrm.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 10:02, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Bw starscream.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bw starscream.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 13:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know that the edit warring for Transformers is annoying, but please try and keep your edit summaries civil. Thanks. :) --Flash176 (talk) 19:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, it gets freaking annoying. Just didn't want to see you possibly get in trouble.--Flash176 (talk) 20:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm writing this to all frequent contributors to the article on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It happens that there's this guy BIGNOLE, who was the one who intended to replace the plot with a pamphlet-like overview of the movie. Well now he has popped again, deciding that random information has to be removed (namely the appearance of Frenzy's head, and the appearance of a Buffalo mine-sweeping vehicle -Bonecrusher's alt mode in the 2007 movie- among the Decepticons in Egypt). This guy first removed both of these calling WP:OR on them, but has changed the story several times in the course of the discussion. My main concern with him is that he doesn't even know what he's talking about. He doesn't know the characters, and has shown to ignore major background plot points about the story, so it really bugs me him popping in whenever he likes and chopping off the info he doesn't regard as important just because he is on Wikipedia:Wikiproject Films. Please take a look at the discussion and make yourself heard. It's kinda tiresome being the only one who seems to care, seeing as people discuss around, but just sit and watch whenever there's real decissions to be made. I won't care if you end up taking sides against me. Make yourself heard. uKER (talk) 07:08, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Trapped in the Closet (South Park). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Do you have a WP:RS source for this info??? -- Cirt (talk) 14:11, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good working with you

[edit]

Just want to say it's good to be working with an experienced editor at Iron Man 2. Whenever a new comic-book movie comes out, anon IPs who've never been to Wikipedia before swarm in and, by and large, create more clean-up work than they do contribute helpful edits. Few of the other longtimers seem to be working on this article, so it's a relief to see someone with a couple years under his belt helping shape it. Thanks. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:17, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stub vs expand|section

[edit]

Hi, When you want to show that a section of an article needs expanding (as in T. R. Edwards), please use {{expand|section}} and not {{stub}} - the stub template refers to a whole article, and puts it into the category for stub-sorting. Thanks. PamD (talk) 16:20, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dark Side (Transformers) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced, no apparent independent notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated

[edit]

A lot of people on Amazon.com are under the assumption that Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated is 2 seasons long each series being 13 episodes long because of Cartoon Network. The online game even advertises episodes 14-26 as season two. http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/games/scoobydoomysteryinc/crystalcove/index.html (look at the badges.) What should be done? JamesAlan1986 (talk) 16:58, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please read what I have just added on this. Thanks. JamesAlan1986 (talk) 12:50, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We are to go by country of origin as this page says: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Television/How_to_write_an_episode_article#Broadcast JamesAlan1986 (talk) 12:56, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the following conversation that is on my talk page: ::::<ref name=Airdate>{{cite web|url=http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/scooby-doo-mystery-incorporated/episodes-season-1/305448|title=Scooby-Doo: Mystery... Episodes |publisher=TV Guide|accessdate=2011-06-11}}</ref>
On every subsequent airdate copy and paste just
<ref name=Airdate/>
and you'll be set! Why would you want Canadian airdates for an American show? It should only have the American airdates. The 2nd page contains the other episodes. But hey, I'm headed to bed now, so if you have any more questions, I'll get to them when I wake up. CTJF83 09:39, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Teletoon's is a Canadian channel and they are posted on the page but no references are posted to show how and when they aired as proof, you know? JamesAlan1986 (talk) 09:44, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You caught me before I left....There should only be American airdates, since it is an American show, correct? See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Television/How_to_write_an_episode_article#Broadcast for part of an explanation. CTJF83 09:50, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OH! Well then I guess that page needs edited then and changed probably should have the unreleased episodes hidden then. I'll talk to someone and see if that can get changed. JamesAlan1986 (talk) 10:19, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

JamesAlan1986 (talk) 13:15, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just said to remove non-American air dates, not details, etc. CTJF83 18:16, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Need your help.

[edit]

We need to keep episodes 24-26 hidden until their air dates on the List of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated episodes cause someone is still vandalizing the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated page and changing the status from Airing to Returning series with no reference and I believe they are doing it because of the episodes page. Please help me keep them hidden for now to minimize the vandalism on the main page. JamesAlan1986 (talk-Contributes) 07:23, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Seifreit weisse character model.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Seifreit weisse character model.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. More information needed about File:Zor dvd cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Zor dvd cover.jpg. However, it needs some more work before it is okay to use on Wikipedia.

Please click here and do the following:

  1. Add a description of where the image comes from (not what it is) and who the creator is. Please be specific, and include a link if you can.
  2. Find the appropriate license from the list of free, non-free media, or public domain options. Copy the license template and paste it in the file's page, and save.

If you follow these steps, your image can help enhance Wikipedia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask at the media copyright questions page.

Hi. When you recently edited Zor (Robotech), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Jack McKinney and Harmony Gold (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Non-free rationale for File:Primus eng.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Primus eng.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. File permission problem with File:Godneptune.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Godneptune.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 03:03, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Saga (comic book)

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for adding the passage about Saga appearing on CBR's Top 10 list to the article. However, I had to revert some aspects of your edit. Specifically:

  • Spaces don't go in front of citations, as indicated by WP:PAIC.
  • You omitted the year 2012 from the passage about the IGN list. I'm guessing this was an error on your part.
  • You included no punctuation at the end of the sentence.
  • Most importantly the claim that the book appeared on "many" Best of 2012 lists is not found in the source you cited, which violates WP:V and/or WP:NOR.
  • I also corrected the url you included in the citation, as that url led to the wrong CBR story. I found the right one by using CBR's searching engine in the story title.

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) and Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File permission problem with File:Bruticus bm.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bruticus bm.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.

You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:29, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Shadowpanther.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Shadowpanther.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Two-year-old?

[edit]

Who are you calling a two-year-old? How is stating what is advertised by official Japanese sources followed by the changes made by American sources end up as "two-year-old pedantry"? How did I "obfuscate the continuity of the film"? Did you not read the TRANSCEND GAME part in the following paragraph that enforces the fact that the film is truly a sequel only to the manga because the creator made a midquel story for the film that is a sequel to the manga and not the anime? I don't think people are really dumb enough to not figure out that there is an issue there regarding the American version of the film, otherwise the changes wouldn't have been made and mentioned to begin with. With that said, the changes you made were not necessary due to repeating what is already there.

Also, minor contradictions to the continuity of the anime? There's no way you read the manga, watched the anime, and watched the film then came to the conclusion that the contradictions are minor. You're spreading false information, which is what the previous edit did not do. The movie's existence is a major contradiction to the continuity of the anime. Seto Kaiba is the main proof of that among other things.

Once again, who are you calling a two-year-old? In case you didn't figure it out, I'm the one who made those edits regarding the films advertised plot and the Transcend Game section.--Rob2k19 (talk) 00:16, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

..............I was referring to the age of the edit, not the age of the editor. - Chris McFeely (talk) 16:20, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, then I apologize for misinterpreting. Still, I asked an additional question (second paragraph) regarding your edit when you said minor. Care to address how you came to that conclusion?--Rob2k19 (talk) 12:40, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Do the differences extend beyond the circumstances of how Bakura obtained the ring, and whether or not Kaiba was present for the Ceremonial Battle? Because the first is a retcon in either continuity, and the latter is minor. - Chris McFeely (talk)
Apologizes for the late reply. I did not receive a notification that you replied. Is that really the conclusion you arrived at after reading the entire manga, watching both Japanese and English versions (Memory World and Battle Ceremony arc) of the Duel Monsters, and watching both versions the movie? If so, then you do not truly understand Yu-Gi-Oh! because it is not a "simple" series that would result in a "minor" contradiction.
First is the manga's relation to the movie. Kazuki Takahashi stated that Kaiba's expressions revert back to the way he was when he was first introduced in the manga. The JP and Eng version of the anime skips this. Kazuki Takahashi also explained Kaiba's character in an old interview, which explained the relationship between Kaiba and Gozaburo (Games = Death) and how that relates to his rivalry with Yami Yugi, which is very deep and give light to why Kaiba is the way he is. Without his one and only rival, Yami Yugi, to keep him in check, he regresses.
Second is the contradiction between the JP/Eng version of the anime with the movie. Kaiba is not present in the manga after Battle City until the last chapter showing him and Mokuba arriving after Yugi and Yami Yugi's duel. In the JP version of the Battle Ceremony, Kaiba didn't care for Yugi. After Yami Yugi summoned all 3 God cards, Kaiba thought the rest of the duel was a watse of a time because he thought Yugi was going to lose so he started walking away until Yugi talked him out of it. After Yugi defeated the God cards, Kaiba said he now believes in what Yugi said and starts accepting him as a duelist. Jonouchi (Joey) was surprised that Kaiba was rooting for Yugi. Yugi beats Yami Yugi then Kaiba says nothing as his one and only rival for so long walks to the afterlife, never to be seen again. In the Eng version, after Yami Yugi summons the God cards, Kaiba says Yugi is pathetic duelist who had Yami Yugi do all the dueling for him. As Kaiba walks away, he tells Yami Yugi that by the looks of the duel, he'll be styaing and that they'll have their rematch. Yugi talks him into staying then Kaiba says when you lose, I'll show you what real dueling is all about. Later on, Kaiba calls Yugi a loser. After Yugi defeats the 3 Gods, Kaiba says he was wrong and that Yugi is the King of Games. Both versions of Kaiba in the anime had him thinking little of Yugi and him finally accepting Yugi as a duelist. He has no reason to duel Yami Yugi anymore. He made his peace.
Third is the differences between the JP and Eng version of the movie. In the JP version, manga (since manga canon) Kaiba tells Virtual Yami Yugi that he's waited for this moment for to settle the score. Kaiba says that Yami Yugi went into hiding without a trace, all while remaining victorious. The English version of that scene just says that Kaiba wanted to settle the score. Later on when manga Kaiba enters the SHrine of the Underworld, manga Kaiba says "It's here? This is where the soul of the King had his final battle with Yugi and left the world of the living." Funny that the English version actually kept this line considering Eng anime Kaiba was there. During manga Kaiba's duel with Aigami, he says he should have been the one to put the final nail in Yami Yugi's coffin. He continues saying that Yami Yugi's ghost haunts his subconscious to this day. English version doesn't keep that line. Eng anime version says something else. Later on, manga Kaiba says that he'll actually need Yugi to complete it after all. At this point, I don't know what the Eng version says at this point and I have enough evidence to counter your minor claim. You've apparently seen it since you consider it a minor contradiction so you can fill in the rest yourself while I continue stating evidence from the JP version. During Kaiba and Yugi's duel, manga Kaiba refers to Yugi as "vessel" Yugi. Manga Kaiba also states that he wanted to keep Yami Yugi in the puzzle as his prisoner of battle.
Long story short, I gave you every piece of evidence that shows how 90-95% (everything Kaiba) of this movie contradicts the JP/Eng version of the anime. The remaining 5-10% would consist of scenes relating to Yugi and co. at school along with flashbacks and Aigami's beef with Bakura (Aigami and Kaiba wouldn't meet because their goals don't clash). I didn't even mention Transcend Game, a manga midquel, yet, which shows what Kaiba was doing to reach Yami Yugi and how he wanted to deliver the final blow on the deceased king. Everything Kaiba did and built in this movie was for Yami Yugi. He treated Yugi like an afterthought and that is exactly what Yugi is in the movie. A major contradiction to what happened in the end of the anime. Everything I stated from the manga and Kazuki Takahashi was related to this movie.--Rob2k19 (talk) 21:07, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, I found it extremely well-written.
I made a few copy edits, nothing major, and trimmed what seemed like an interpretive phrase in the last paragraph. But that was a wonderfully, professionally written synopsis, and my hat is off to you. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:55, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yu-Gi-Oh!
