Your contributed article, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Islam
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Islam. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Secularism in Pakistan. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Secularism in Pakistan - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. lTopGunl (talk) 08:23, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
You've got mail
[edit]It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template. at any time by removing the
second nomination
[edit]I've closed the second nomination. I can understand why you would want to do this; there is an obvious logic to your intentions. The DRV outcome of "allow recreation" is a decision that acknowledges large parts of the community believe the topic is notable. It overrides the previous AFD, but a subsequent AFD could overrule the DRV. Don't stress about doing the 'wrong' thing; its the best way to learn the maze of rules and processes here on Wikipedia. [edit]Your recent editing history at Darrell Issa shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Bbb23 (talk) 16:08, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have no intention of violating the three revert rule. That is why I asked for mediation. However, I think this is a case of I don't like it and that his decision on Fluke is notable enough for inclusion on his page. Casprings (talk) 16:15, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Using Revert and re-adding spelling, reference, grammar, and attribution mistakes, particularly against consensus to re-establish your favored statements is considered disruptive. Failing to address Talk pages, failing to advance an argument using forms such as "It's obvious", "reliable in my opinion", "this is my version this is x's version, I like mine better" are not considered constructive use of the Talk page, as required to avoid blocking due to edit warring. 209.6.69.227 (talk) 14:57, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Casprings. I closed your RFPP request for Rush Limbaugh–Sandra Fluke controversy with two weeks of full protection. It would not be easy to justify semiprotection, since the IP was participating on Talk, nobody broke 3RR, and there did not seem to be any clear consensus on the talk page in favor of either position. Consider opening a formal WP:RFC. From a quick glance, the proposals now on the talk page are extremely technical and hard to understand. Disagreement over certain fine points might be standing in the way of agreement on a consensus version. Possibly the article could still have value even if it were written in a more vague and high-level fashion, leaving the details to be covered in the references. Speedy deletion nomination of School of Advanced Warfighting
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on School of Advanced Warfighting requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Stuartyeates (talk) 07:59, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
Block quotes
[edit]Did you read this? The quotes you are blockquoting don't meet the criteria.
Block quotations [edit]
Format a long quote (more than about 40 words or a few hundred characters, or consisting of more than one paragraph, regardless of length) as a block quotation, which Wikimedia's software will indent from both margins.
I don't know of any policy that specifies blockquotes for "highly controversy statements", but if you point me to it I'll sure go check it out. Then again, if there is no such policy, it might be best to just follow the MOS on this. Belchfire-TALK 02:46, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Todd Akin
[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Todd Akin. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
FYI, MoS overrides your personal preference. Belchfire-TALK 03:08, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Just FYI, I'm not going to keep reverting you, but you are really pushing the line here with the constant edits. The section was just exactly neutral a moment ago and you keep making more changes, and there's hardly any recognized consensus yet for what exactly should be there (via the Talk page). Maybe it would be best if you don't keep fiddling with it for a bit and propose some things via Talk instead of being Bold over and over? -- Avanu (talk) 03:52, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Didn't realize you were still working on adding more, as I was posting here. I'm going to take this to WP:EW, if you don't mind,
unless you're willing to self-revert to http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Todd_Akin&oldid=508231577Actually, just stop edit warring. This my last request from you on that front. -- Avanu (talk) 03:55, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

- Cas, I respect what you are trying to do, but please read my comments in the AfD before making judgment. I honestly think that the data supporting rape-causing-pregnancy belongs in the main article on Rape (and it will be seen by more people as well.) --Mr. Vernon (talk) 02:24, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi
[edit]I just want to make sure you're OK. Sometimes those AfD discussions can get heated. I try to remind myself that it's all a process, like a metal smith beats on a piece of metal. It's a dirty and messy process, but eventually, out comes a shiny, sparking sword. The dirty metal is wikipedia, and the sword is wikipedia, only later. You see what I'm saying? The process itself is ugly, but the finished product is beautiful. And sparkly. Glistening, like a sword. --MoonLichen (talk) 05:02, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Casprings (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I am not sure why I was targeted for this. I have never violated the 3rr rule nor do I feel I have a history of aggressive editing. In the case reported, I stopped reverting after 2rr. While I may be WP:bold I have always used the talk pages. In the issue I was blocked for, I was working for compromise here http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Talk:Todd_Akin_rape_and_pregnancy_controversy#Background_SectionCasprings (talk) 18:50, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You most certainly did violate 3RR, it was clearly shown how you reverted 4 times in a 24 hour period at Todd Akin rape and pregnancy controversy. Please keep in mind that "revert" doesn't just mean clicking the "undo" link, it also includes any edits that reinsert material removed by someone before, or removing material someone added. Since this is your second block for edit-warring, it's standard for you to be blocked for 48 hours as a second offense. -- Atama頭 19:04, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hi Casprings. Thank you for starting the article on Rape and Pregnancy. It's exactly the kind of neutral, unbiased information that can be difficult to find, especially for young people, and especially in environments that are uncomfortable with sexual topics. It's necessary and useful, and it looks like it's going to easily survive its AfD. Congratulations :-) Sue Gardner (talk) 06:19, 24 August 2012 (UTC) |

Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson
[edit]Hi. your edit to Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images copied verbatim into Wikipedia. Such material must be properly paraphrased.
In addition, material on Wikipedia must be written in a neutral, dispassionate tone, without the slang wording ("over-the-top", "rocketed little Alana to fame") that is often found in promotional material. Merely cutting and pasting others' material can also result in errors such as "went viral wildfire" and "thrThompson family".
Since you've accumulated over 1,100 edits in the almost three and a half years that you've been editing here, you should know this.
If you want to recreate that article, feel free to do so, but only if the material is paraphrased. In addition, I would recommend naming the article Alana Thompson, since that is her real name, and making "Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson a redirect to it, since biographical article titles generally do not incorporate both real names and nicknames.
If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 12:57, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Richard Mourdock controversy
[edit]I've nominated an article you created, Richard Mourdock pregnancy from rape Is 'something god intended' controversy. It doesn't seem viable to me to create articles for every controversial statement of position assumed by every political candidate in the world; more sources would be needed to establish that something is of real significance or notability. I removed the Article-specific tags from the sandboxed version of the Mourdock rape article, and tagged it as a userspace draft. Since the actual article is already at AFD, and since this is a userpage and not an article as such, it doesn't go to AFD - and leaving it at AFD just screws up the bots. No problems, just an FYI. School of Advanced Military Studies
[edit]Hello. Thanks for requesting the copy edit for this article. It's probably OK for a GA renomination. I need to take a break from Wikipedia for an extended period due to demands on my time. If you'd like, please feel free to nominate the article for GA status.
There was some concern at the A-Class review about the 25-year history being used as a source. If that is a sticking point at a GA review, the dissertation by Kevin Benson could serve as a replacement for many of the passages supported by that reference. One of the editors at A-class review said it would still not be a reliable source due to Benson's background as a SAMS director, but that contradicts Wikipedia's policies at WP:SCHOLARSHIP: "Completed dissertations or theses written as part of the requirements for a PhD, and which are publicly available, are considered publications by scholars and are routinely cited in footnotes. They have been vetted by the scholarly community", and "Material such as an article, book, monograph, or research paper that has been vetted by the scholarly community is regarded as reliable." If necessary, an request for opinion could be raised at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard regarding the dissertation, but I doubt it would be a problem at GA review.
Thanks again. --Airborne84 (talk) 16:38, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for addressing those comments so quickly! The article looks a lot better now, and I was able to fix that Bower citation. Great job with this, and let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. You might consider trying another A-class or FA attempt now. --Cerebellum (talk) 12:59, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Steubenville rape cover up controversy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Steubenville rape cover up controversy. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Steubenville High School. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Steubenville High School – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
Gtwfan52 (talk) 04:28, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- As reviewing administrator, I decided to delete the article. in part on the grounds of it being an unnecessary duplicate, but also because of consideration of BLP overcoverage. I am not making a final decision or trying to judge the BLP concerns in detail. I suggest you discuss on the main article talk p or on the BLP noticeboard the question of whether there should be a separate article. Either place would be better than AfD.
