Welcome to Wikipedia!
[edit]Hello Busterdawg, welcome to Wikipedia!
I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!
If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
You might like some of these links and tips:
- some General guidance.
- Tutorial and the Manual of Style.
- Find out how to revert, move and merge pages.
- Sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~).
- Add yourself to the New user log and a regional notice board
- Ask questions at the Village pump or Help desk.
- Use the Show preview button
- Provide an Edit summary
- Add the correct image copyright tag to any images you upload
- Take a look at Consensus of standards
- Create a User page
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alf melmac 15:33, 15 November 2005 (UTC).
How's the page look now? Stan weller 12:46, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Pretty good at first glance, Stan. I've been pretty busy as of late so I have only had the chance to look at it now. I will take a closer look later. Thanks for the time you put in. Buster 00:40, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
WP:Films Welcome
[edit]Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for July has been published. August's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Film Tasks template to see how you can help.
- Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
- Want to collaborate on articles? The Cinema Collaboration of the Week picks an article every week to work on together.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 21:53, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to User:Tyrandan. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 23:59, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think so. I pointed out a truism; User:Tyrandan is, indeed, a vandal. User:Tyrandan vandalized the No Fun article at 09:52, September 10th 2007. No shame in pointing it out on his user page where it can be discussed. My action in pointing out an established fact about a wiki user on his page to serve as a "Scarlet V", so to speak, is not vandalism and is highly constructive. If you don't like what I did I advise you to come up with a better explanation to wipe it away other than using the "vandalism" catch-all. - Buster 00:22, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- If you want to point it out on his talk page, that's up to you. But that was on his User page. If you do, though, please remember to be civil — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 00:27, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- In progress as we type. - Buster 00:35, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, he's already been blocked, so I've put the appropriate tag on the user page. I apologise, I should have checked further first. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 00:40, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- No apology necessary. Lately I have had my fill of vandals and wanted to take a new tact, a head on approach. My apologies to you if I seemed at bit cranky. - Buster 04:04, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

WP:FILMS Questionnaire
[edit]As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

Wikipedia policy allows us to link to legal streamed copies of albums. It would be useful to draw up a guideline on how and when to link to such albums; however, there is concern that it may not be appropriate as the music would not be available in all parts of the world. Is the benefit of having access to the music for most users outweighed by the fact that some users will follow a link to find the music is not playable in their region? Your view would be helpful at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. SilkTork ✔Tea time 01:58, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
