In this case it doesn't matter where you're doing it. You're making a bunch of trivial edits simply up upgrade your user rights. The very reason we have restrictions for user access levels is, essentially, to ensure they have reached a certain level of trust before they can perform certain actions. The reason is, I did not know that I also could not simply edit things on wikipedia. I WAS TOLD by an editor named Lizardjr8 that I COULD EDIT ANYTHING ON THE SANDBOX PAGE. That was why I did it.I also made an edit on the russian occupation of sumy oblast and it is still there.That was when I THOUGHT I could raise my rights to edit on sandbox. Introduction to contentious topics
