Remember this guy?
You made 2001:569:70DD:7500:39EA:19D8:DF90:EF4D (talk · contribs · WHOIS) promise to cite reliable sources when changing where people live. They didn't follow through on that promise. They also blanked the warning I gave them immediately after I gave it to them, and they apparently been blanking every warning they've gotten since they were unblocked. — Gestrid (talk) 20:25, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

F.Y.I. If you remember, about two weeks ago you nominated this for AFD. What was there was an awful stub. I have replaced it now with a better article. I never would have worked on this article had it not passed through AFD. Unintended consequences... MB 05:17, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Added to the 10,000 challenge. Question too; I could improve the article further with info from the Ottawa Citizen. Do you know if that paper is available online at any non-pay site. It does seem to be archived at Newspapers.com, but that is a subscription site. MB 05:52, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting those article. I looked at them quickly and will definitely use some of them. Unfortunately, I noticed some of the info doesn't quite match what is already in the article - not the first time I've found sources that don't agree. If you get a chance, you could look for Hawkesbury-Grenville Bridge because that was the working name from 1909-1931 and there might be more info from that period before it was built. Thanks again. Hi Bearcat,
I noticed you removed Angela Workman from 'Screenwriters' and added her to 'British Screenwriters.' But she is not from Britain (mother is from Britain but Angela Workman was born in the US). She does write a lot of British films though! Please undo, thanks! Beauty111 (talk) 07:15, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Reverts in Akhtala Monastery
Hi, Bearcat. I am writing to you as an administrator of English Wikipedia. In armwiki, when someone reverts the same contribution in the same day 2 times, the administrator gives him a note, and if he does it three times, the admin blocks the user. So, one of the users of this Wikipedia, Kober, who mainly edits in this Wikipedia, being a Georgian, and you can see his contributions, did this revertion two times [1] and [2]. The problem is, that the monastery is an Armenian one, also is in the territory of Armenia, but he claims to leave the Georgian name on it, without any reason. This is an Armenian monastery and it is written in the article and for Georgian name we can see Wikidata. But the problem is, that he can revert 2 times and nothing happens after that. --Hayk.arabaget (talk) 18:31, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- What I reverted was an undiscussed removal of content from a GA entry which had been stable for years. So it is your burden of responsibility to discuss the rationale behind your edits.--KoberTalk 19:02, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- In this instance, given the site's history, I think that a rendering in Georgian of the name is appropriate for the lead. However, an article's GA status is irrelevant for small content changes and Kober should stop presenting that status as a reason to not make edits (he has done it on several occasions). Alan Thicke's death
Note that despite Alan's death on December 13, it is not yet appropriate for Wikipedia to assume that the show has been cancelled. While we could debate how likely this actually is, for example, it is not at all impossible that another season could still be produced with Robin or Brennan or Tanya as the new "main star". So please do not insert a presumed end date for the show until it is formally announced that production has ended permanently. Bearcat (talk) 16:03, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
I agree--you'll note that my edit kept "is a series," though I justifiably used past simple in other places (though I considered the present perfect simple). I think it is also unreasonable that you have removed the word "late" before "actor Alan Thicke." The man is dead. I'm sorry if you knew him personally or something and are grieving but removing a tactful, simple and pertinent fact from a description is inappropriate and not acting in the spirit of Wikipedia--I won't cite one of those stupid statutes but I'm sure they've got one. I'm not going to edit it back because you clearly are feeling proprietary or something here and I'm not interested in getting into a contest. Nevertheless, please take a deep breath. I'm afraid you'd discover that my reading skills are up to speed. I was taken aback by the tone of the comment with your edit.Alphacat2 (talk) 09:23, 17 December 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alphacat2 (talk • contribs)
Your point on my talk page about relating narrative in the present is well-taken, but that opening paragraph is about production modus operandi of a "mocumentary" reality show centred around a person who is now dead. Were we to summarize the events of PARTICULAR episodic narratives derived from PARTICULAR production edits of the program, I agree that present would be most appropriate. However, what I changed to past was the M.O. of a show that, if it continues, must change to some degree owing to Alan Thicke's death. Regarding Mr. Thicke, please accept my condolences.Alphacat2 (talk) 19:48, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

User:Benjiboi
Hello, Bearcat. I thought I should notify you that with this edit, you notified the now indefinitely blocked user Benjiboi that the article Derrick Barry had been nominated for deletion by adding the notice not to his talk page but to his user page, which I am sure was not your intention. I would remove the notice from that user's user page myself, but I cannot, as the page has been protected against editing by non-administrators. Bahren Shaari Page
Hi Bearcat,
You had previously deleted the "Bahren Shaari" page. I've made edits on my end but realized that I'm not able to recreate the page again as there were multiple deletions.
Can you please advise on what I should do next?
Thanks.

Hi Bearcat, the above article is a case of very close paraphrasing of this paper, which is cited as a source. If you have a chance to look at it could you let me know if it would have been appropriate to tag it with G12? Or should it be tagged with {subst:Copyvio} and listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems? Still trying to figure how to be most efficient and not spend a ton of time overthinking things, while not making unneccessary work for other folks. Thanks, nerdgoonrant (talk) 17:02, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

Jian Ghomeshi
Would you be okay with dropping the protection on Jian Ghomeshi? It looks like a single user was responsible for the disruption, and IMO if it resumes, a block would be a better way to handle it. Jackmcbarn (talk) 19:43, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Opinion
I know XHDEH-TDT was kept at AfD in July 2014, but I think the reviewers there didn't really get Mexican TV stations and how they work. I really think XHDEH-TDT and XHCDE-TDT should be converted to redirects. What say you? (I'm trying to remove some of our overly unnecessary Mexico TV articles.) Chenail Island
I see you noticed Chenail Island. Perley Bridge was a DYK yesterday, and Chenail Island was a red-link in the lead that was bugging me. So just before the DYK went live, I decided to create a stub for Chenail Island. But instead of the few minutes I was expecting to spend, I kept going and added everything I could find. I added it to the Canada 10K list too. There is always plenty to work on! MB 18:48, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Request for assistance
Hello Bearcat, My recent return to preventing vandalism and updating articles is disappointed by constant reverts by new users focussed on one celebrity bio that possibly may (or may not) be interested in controversies or defamation.
Because of your past excellent admin performance, could you please check out John Furlong (sports administrator) article and Talk page.
I do like seeing your edits / corrections on articles I keep an eye on my watchlist. You do so many.
Cheers,

Note of appreciation
I'm impressed by your insights, discretion, judgement and analysis at Afds. My hat off to you. Thank you. Much to learn from you still. Lourdes 17:06, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Philip M Epstein
Hi Bearcat.
I am interested as to why you deleted my first Wikipedia page with respect to Philip M. Epstein without any discussion. Philip Epstein is a person of note in Family Law in Canada and I believe deserves to have an entry in Wikipedia. If there is some issue with the content that I provided, then please let me know. I believe that the content I provided speaks for itself and if you were to look into Mr. Epstein's considerable background I would think you would come to the same conclusion. The entry was created by me and I have no vested interest in Mr Epstein's business activities. I created this page as a tribute for someone I admire. Please reconsider this deletion. Thank you for your attention. Tmanship (talk) 22:23, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
