Sorry

[edit]

I saw a link on your sandbox, which generally I look out for and remove from article pages. I got your sandbox by accident. Please accept my apologies. Bobo. 19:07, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No hard feelings. It's easy to understand. Asmeurer (talkcontribs) 20:01, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalizing major/minor

[edit]

Happened upon a months-old discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_(pieces_of_music) about capitalizing "major" and "minor." I threw in my two cents there; thought you might like to see it. SFT | Talk 08:04, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that you are part of Category:Inclusionist_Wikipedians. I would like you to consider joining the Article Rescue Squadron. Rescue Squadron members are focused on rescuing articles for deletion, that might otherwise be lost forever. I think you will find our project matches your vision of Wikipedia.

An editor's displeasure with my crop of his PD pic

[edit]

Can you offer your thoughts on this matter? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 17:58, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again for your participation. People tend to ask me why I've asked them to participate in a given discussion. The truth is, I'm unfamiliar with any particular protocol for assembling a consensus discussion, so I typically just leave an identical note on the Talk Pages of people I find who have edited a given article, its Talk Page, or a topic to which it's related. Just out of curiosity, do you know what other people do to start such a discussion? Is there a WP policy or guideline that governs this? Thanks. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:15, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded a higher resolution version of the logo at SymPy, but now it is being squished on the side bar. How can I fix this asmeurer (talk | contribs) 00:05, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've made it less obtrusive :) gwickwiretalkediting 00:16, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was huge. My browser must have been caching the old size, which was squishing it. asmeurer (talk | contribs) 00:23, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ; you added in September 2011 a footnote mentioning that SymPy could integrate one of the hard examples given in the article. A French contributor could not reproduce this claim (not referenced, and suppressed from the English version a few weeks later. Would you have some more checkable references, or was it a mistake or a misunderstanding ?--Dfeldmann (talk) 14:41, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked that SymPy could do it. It looks like it still can. See http://live.sympy.org/?evaluate=integrate((x**2%20%2B%202*x%20%2B%201%20%2B%20(3*x%20%2B%201)*sqrt(x%20%2B%20log(x)))%2F(x*sqrt(x%20%2B%20log(x))*(x%20%2B%20sqrt(x%20%2B%20log(x))))%2C%20x)%0A%23--%0A. Note that SymPy is using an implementation of Bronstein's Poor-man's integrator when it solves this integral. asmeurer (talk | contribs) 02:00, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Still active?

[edit]

Hello , I am a new member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Music terminology. I will be very active in the project. Are you still active? I want to get this thing into sixth gear and thought I might as well message the old members to see if any of them are interested in returning to the project. This is a revival! Best regards!--Xavier (talk) 12:50, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
