Welcome to the Wikipedia!
[edit]Hello, and Welcome to the Wikipedia, Arkiedragon! Thanks for the contribution over on the Scientology article. Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Wikipedia experience:
- Take a look at the Wikipedia Tutorial and Manual of Style.
- When you have time, please peruse The five pillars of Wikipedia, and Assume good faith, but keep in mind the unique style you brought to the Wiki!
- Always be mindful of striving for NPOV, be respectful of others' POV, and remember your perspective on the meaning of neutrality is invaluable!
- If you need any help, post your question at the Help Desk.
- Explore, be bold in editing, and, above all else, have fun!
And some odds and ends: Boilerplate text, Brilliant prose, Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Utilities, Verifiability, Village pump, and Wikiquette; also, you can sign your name on any page by typing four tildes: ~~~~.
Best of luck, Arkiedragon, and most importantly, have fun! Ombudsman 06:45, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Virii vs Virus
[edit]I'm not going to revert your edit, but instead point you towards Plural of virus. Your edit was valid, which is why I didn't revert it, but I just wanted to let you know that the word "Virii" indeed exists, just not common. - Zero1328 Talk? 10:39, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
FYI, you may be interested to see that Ashley Todd was speedily deleted using CSD:G10 as the justification: "exists primarily to disparage its subject." I happen to disagree with this decision as the article was neutral and nothing on the AfD page implied it as an "attack" page, and content that this is out of process. I encourage you to chime in if you have an opinion either way at User_talk:Orderinchaos#Out_of_order_deletion_of_Ashley_Todd. Thanks. -- Fuzheado | Talk 21:08, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Your rollback request
[edit]Hi! I regret that I must inform you that your request for the rollback permission has been denied. You can discover why by checking the archives at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Denied/November 2008#arkiedragon. SoxBot X (talk) 08:00, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- In response to your message on my talk page, I used Twinkle for a year and that just requires that you're autoconfirmed. I never even got rollback permissions until I became an admin. Oren0 (talk) 17:40, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Re your message: No problem. Feel free to report it yourself to WP:AIV, though in this particular case, it was already reported. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:33, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
Why would you template me about "removing content or templates"? What is it, content or templates? What do you want, and why do you restore a completely messed up page I just tried to fix? I assume you made a mistake. Otherwise I must point you to WP:DTTR, and if this doesn't impress you, I might start templating you back, for all the good that will do. If you actually insist on restoring unreferenced content, you must take the blame for the content being unreferenced, and I could start templating you for, well, adding random nonsense to Wikipedia. --dab (đł) 16:01, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- If you really feel that my action was one that needs a warning to be given, then please do. I understand WP:DTTR, but at the same time, I try and be as neutral as possible and not let the fact someone is an experience editor sway what judgement on what I think may be a mistake or an act of vandalism. I'm simply trying to aim for as much neutrality as possible, that's all. I fear I may have missed the mark this time however and by a large margin, too. AJ Kirwin (talk) 16:34, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
