Silver Ships Inc.

Silver Ships Inc. is an American builder of aluminum workboats headquartered in Theodore, Alabama. It offers a variety of vessels ranging from fire rescue to specialized law enforcement and military missions. Silver Ships was the first to produce Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) in North America and has constructed more than 650 RHIBs for all branches of the U.S. military.

Boats produced by Silver Ships range in size from 21 feet to 65 feet in length. Boats are built to American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) Standards, can be built to meet U.S. Coast Guard Regulations for Inspected Vessels, if required, and are operate globally. Silver Ships product line includes all-welded custom aluminum boats used for a variety of applications. The company produces mission-specific aluminum vessels for military, federal, state and municipal governments including commercial applications.

Mike McCarty founded Silver Ships in 1985. In 1990, Silver Ships built its first aluminum RHIB and in 1995 began building boats for state and federal contracts. Silver Ships vessels operate worldwide each with specific missions utilized primarily by state and federal organizations. The company moved headquarters in 1996 to its current location in Theodore, Alabama.

Silver Ships 95,000 square feet production facilities are located on 25-acres. On-site accredited Naval Architect and Engineering staff design and manufacture all vessel with 3D modeling and hydrodynamic design software to evaluate precise calculation throughout construction. From the initial design to final product, every Silver Ships aluminum RHIB is completed in one location.

In 1997, Silver Ships became a Sub-Contractor for Ambar Marine and in 2000 purchased the business advancing from single boat process to running contracts for federal agencies. Silver Ships boats range in size from 21 feet to 65 feet in length, are built to American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) Standards, can be built to meet U.S. Coast Guard Regulations for Inspected Vessels, if required, and are currently operating globally. Silver Ships product line includes all-welded custom aluminum boats used for a variety of applications.

Silver Ships develops and builds custom made vessels for several government agencies, notable a $8.2 million Delivery Order as a result of being awarded a Firm-Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) single award contact (N00024-21-D-2205) by the Naval Sea Systems Command for the construction and delivery of up to 110 Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Surface Support Craft (SSC) and U.S. Coast Guard Special Purpose Craft, Law Enforcement (SPC-LE) vessels.
