Hello, Alexandrasainsbury, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Encyclopedic tone

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your contributions. Even though the information you had added (per this revision) was quite useful, it needs to be completely re-written in a neutral, academic way, rather than as a religious brochure or advertisement. DjembeDrums (talk) 00:15, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your feedback. I have edited the article is it possible for you to let me know which parts still need changing or if i can upload it again?
The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation, officially receiving church status on the 6th June 2019, with  origins dating back to 1999. Based out of Reno, Nevada USA with headquarters in the UK, it has  members worldwide. The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is not to be confused with the Ahmadiyya sect that believes in Mirza Ghulam Ahmed.
The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light claims to be a continuation of all major world religions and the fulfilment of many Islamic prophecies, including the will of the Prophet Mohammed. The members of the religion  believe that humanity is living in the end times as prophesied in all major religions, and that the eschatological figure Imam Al-Mahdi appeared on the 23rd of January, 2015, as per the prophecy.
== Leadership structure ==
The Religion is headed by Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq who is believed by its followers to be the Qaim (Translation: Riser) of the Family of Mohammed and the second Mahdi Mentioned in the will of the Prophet Mohammed. It follows the teachings of Imam Ahmed Al-Hassan, the vicegerent of Imam Al-Mahdi, as its divine guide.
== History ==
== Appearance of Imam Al-Mahdi and the death of King Abdullah ==
In 2015 Imam Al-Mahdi is said to have appeared to a group of 12 believers after the death of King Abdullah of Hijaz. “The Qa’im does not rise until 12 men emerge, all of them gather upon the saying that they have seen him, but they are belied.”
– Al-Ghayba, Ibn Abi Zainab Al-No’mani, 1st ed., p.285, hadith 58 (Online book: p.283) – Bihar Al-Anwar, Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi, 3rd ed., v.52, p.244, hadith 121
They consider his appearance the fulfilment of a divine prophecy that was narrated as a hadith and can be found as recorded by the Islamic scholar Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei:
“Hijaz will be ruled by a man whose name is the name of an animal, if you see him from far, you would think he’s crossed-eyed, and if you come close to him, you do not see anything (wrong) in his eyes. He will be succeeded by a brother of his, named Abdullah. Woe to our Shia (followers) from him! Woe to our Shia (followers) from him! Woe to our Shia (followers) from him! – he repeated it three times – Give me the glad tidings of his death and I give you the glad tidings of the appearance of the Hujjah (Imam Al-Mahdi).” - 250 Signs, Muhammad Ali Tabatabaei, p.121, no. 88
The religion was announced online on the night of the 23rd of January 2015, shortly after the announcement of the death of the King of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Alsaud and announced the appearance of the Mahdi.
== Appointment of Aba Al-Sadiq ==
In 2015, Ahmed Al-Hassan appointed Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq as the general responsible over the affairs of believers worldwide. He also commanded Abdullah Hashem and the followers with him to raise the black banners of the East that have been prophesied in Islamic narrations.
== The goal of Imam Al-Mahdi and Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq ==
Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq is believed to be the prophesied Riser who paves the way for Imam Mahdi.
The ultimate goal of the religion according to its members is to establish a divine just state filled with peace and justice for all to live in harmony without discrimination or persecution under the rule of God’s appointed king. Under the divine just state people will be free to practise the religion of their choosing as long as the laws set by God's appointed king are followed.
== BELIEFS ==
== All Religions are One ==
The members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light believe that most mainstream religions came from the same source but were corrupted over time to the point that they are now 99 percent wrong. Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism and Manichaeism were originally all part of the same religion and the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is a continuation of this and a return back to the true uncorrupted religion. This religious perspective also includes a belief in the sanctity of various holy books, including the Torah, the Gospels, the Quran, and the Bhagavad Gita. However, it acknowledges the corruption of specific passages within these scriptures that have occurred throughout history.
== Covenants ==
The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light teaches that God has made covenants with mankind and each one of them has been broken then replaced with a new covenant. Humanity has had a total of six Covenants in the past with six founders for each starting with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed, and that we are now in the seventh and final covenant which will be an everlasting Covenant.
== Religion is a man ==
The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light teaches that in every day and age there is a man chosen by God to be the veil between God and mankind. They believe that the whole point of religion is to find the chosen Vicegerent of God or Imam as he has within him the spirit of God and he is the entirety of the religion, as from him come the laws, the jurisprudence, as well as the understanding for mankind on how to establish a relationship with God. The members believe that this is the main point of religion that was removed and replaced with a shell of rules and rituals in modern mainstream religions.
== The law of knowing God’s Vicegerent ==
According to the belief system of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, a vicegerent of God is recognized by three proofs: A Will, knowledge, and the supremacy of God. Together, they are known as the “Law of recognizing the vicegerent of God”. The members believe all prophets, messengers and successors from the time of Adam were sent with these proofs as evidence of their divine vicegerency.
The Prophet Mohammed wrote a will
According to Islamic narrations, on a Thursday in which Prophet Mohammed is said to have expressed a desire to write a will on his deathbed.
According to Islamic narrations, there is only one will that is found to be attributed to Prophet Mohammed. It is a document that Mohammed promised ‘shall never lead you astray.’ At the core of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light’s belief system is a narration recorded by the Islamic scholar Al-Toosi, said to be the will dictated by Muhammad to ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib:
“Then there will be twelve Mahdis after him, so if death comes to him, let him hand it over to his son, the first of the close ones. He has three names, one like mine and my father’s and it is Abdullah (Servant of God), and Ahmad (the Praised), and the third name is Al-Mahdi (the Guided) and he is the first of the believers.”
– Al-Ghayba, Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan ‘Al-Toosi’, 3rd ed., p. 150, hadith 111
The successors of Prophet Mohammed are based on his Final Will and Testament in this narration. The Ansar Allah believe that 12 Imams are succeeded by 12 Mahdis, in which the first three are believed to be present in the flesh in this day and age: Ahmed, Abdullah and Al-Mahdi. According to the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, the will was claimed by its rightful owner when Imam Ahmed Al-Hassan claimed to be the Ahmed who was named in the will, as was foretold in the narrations
Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (From Him is Peace) said:
“This matter will not be claimed except by the rightful owner or else Allah will cut off his age.”
- Al-Kafi: vol. 1, p. 373, h. 5 Al-Bihar: vol. 25, p. 112, b. 3, no. 9
According to The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light, Imam Ahmed Al-Hassan is the successor of Imam Al-Mahdi, and he is the Yamani and the first of the 12 Mahdis and believe that the second Mahdi, Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq is ‘Abdullah’ in the will of Prophet Mohammed. Aba Al-Sadiq is the successor of Imam Ahmed Al-Hassan and also the door to him as he is the one who faces the people on behalf of Imam Ahmed Al-Hassan.
== Supremacy of God ==
The members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light believe that allegiance to God's chosen vicegerent is vital and the only way to obey God on earth. The main foundation of the religion is the supremacy of God. In short, this belief pertains to the leadership of society, a person appointed to rule must have authority from God. This is the only form of leadership that is accepted by adherents of the faith, one that is God-appointed.
== Humanity First ==
AROPL’s teachings state that God’s mercy is greater than his anger and that God forgives the sins of all those who repent. The principle of ‘Humanity First’ establishes for the followers of this religion that nothing is more important than being humane. Discrimination and division based on religion, race, nationality, or any other construct is considered secondary to being humane and having humanity.
Gospel of the Riser ‘The Goal of The Wise’
The gospel of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light called “The Goal of the Wise,” was written by Aba Al-Sadiq and released in 2022. The book, which has 40 "doors" or chapters and has been translated into Arabic, Urdu, Spanish, French, German, Turkish, and Azeri. It focuses on numerous topics, such as: the covenants established between God and humanity, the supremacy of God, the nature of reality, the Crucifiction of Jesus, heaven and hell, distortion of religion, Reincarnation, the soul world, divine morals and manners, the human ego, archangels, and characters of the end times including the Mahdi, the Riser, the Yamani, Sufyani, and the beast mentioned in scriptures; along with the variety of subjects covered in this book. It has led to hostility and even violence from both scholars, governmental authorities and civilians in the Middle East towards followers of the Religion.
“The Qaim/Riser shall rise with a new matter, and a new book, and a new jurisprudence/rule which will be hard for the Arabs.” Kitab Al-Ghayba (Book of Occultation), Al-Numani, Vol. 1, p. 236

== Persecution ==
The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is recognised by the UN and the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) https://www.uscirf.gov/victims-list/ as a persecuted religious minority. The believers have suffered oppression, primarily in Muslim countries due to some of the teachings of the religion which have been labelled as “heretical”- Including acceptance of LGBTQ+ members, that the hijab is not mandatory, the five daily prayers are no longer obligatory, that alcohol is permissible and that the Kaaba is in Petra not Mecca. This persecution has escalated since the release of “The Goal of the Wise'' in December 2022, causing many of the members to be forced to flee their countries of Origin.
== Iran ==
In 2018, the Iranian government produced a propaganda documentary targeting the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light which was broadcasted on national television, giving rise to incidents of police harassment, attacks by plain-clothes policemen, and family members and neighbours reporting members of the religion to the police. In December 2022, a group of 15 followers of the faith, including minors and women, were detained and transferred to the notorious Evin Prison, where they were coerced to denounce their faith and defame their religion, despite not committing any crimes, nor preaching their faith openly. The charges brought against them were based on the teachings of the religion being opposed to “Wilayat Al Faqih,” (the guardianship of the Islamic jurist), which grants authority to jurists and scholars who shape and enforce Sharia law in the country.
On the 8th July 2023 The persecution faced by the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light community in Iran was highlighted during an international conference held at the European Parliament on the subject of oppressed minorities in Iran. During the conference, Thierry Valle, the President of CAP Liberté de Conscience, highlighted the severe state-sponsored religious persecution endured by members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Iran, emphasising their inability to practise their faith freely and the threats they face due to their religious beliefs, causing them to live in constant fear for their lives.
== Algeria ==
In June 2022 Amnesty International published a statement demanding the release of 3 Algerian members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light participation in an unauthorised group’ and denigrating Islam’, under Article 46 of the Law on Associations and Article 144 bis 2 of the Algerian Penal Code. The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) listed members of the faith, Redouane Foufa, Khireddine Ahman and Cherif Mohamed Ali in their database as victims of the abuse of Freedom of Religion or Belief.
== Malaysia ==
There is a growing community of members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Malaysia. Eight members of the faith organised an LGBTQ+ solidarity protest in July 2023, in response to the oppressive state laws in Malaysia towards the LGBTQ+ community. The group were arrested and the protest made headlines and went viral which caused the religion to be targeted by the religious and political authorities. The religion was publicly condemned by the Religious Minister who accused them of going against the Islamic Sharia and by the federal territory Mufti’s office who labelled the teachings of the Religion as “Heretical” and that they “contradict Islamic Law.” The group has been censored online by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and has been labelled as “Heretical” by multiple religious non-governmental organisations. This state sponsored persecution has led to a wave of attacks and threats from the general public, causing the members of the religion to be unsafe in Malaysia.
== Turkey ==
On the 24th of May 2023, 104 members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light including women, children and the elderly who had fled persecution in their home countries, gathered at Kapikule on the Turkish/Bulgarian border. They originated from Iraq, Iran, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Palestine and Thailand. The group also included 3 Turkish members. They were attempting to cross the border into Bulgaria in order to reach safety in a non-Muslim country. They presented at the border a letter which was signed by Bulgarian and other international humanitarian organisations and sent to FRONTEX as well as the Bulgarian authorities one day before, via border violence monitoring network. As they peacefully approached the border they were pulled back and brutally attacked with batons as gunshots were fired. Many members of the group including the women, children and the elderly sustained serious injuries in the unprovoked attack. The group experienced multiple beatings, sexual assaults and abuse of human rights after their arrest. They were detained in dire conditions in Edirne deportation centre and were given deportation orders which would have resulted in death or imprisonment for the majority of the group. 104 members of a religious minority face imprisonment or execution on the Turkish-Bulgarian border. They were finally released after six months after press coverage and growing international pressure.
== Action from Human Rights Organisations ==
A written statement was submitted by CAP Freedom of conscience and human rights without frontiers to the UN Human rights council on the plight of the 104 members to be discussed at the 53rd session at the UN. On 4th July 2023, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights released a statement urging Turkey to halt the deportation of the group. Three UN Special Rapporteurs, Felipe González Morales, Nazila Ghanea and Fernand de Varennes, as well as the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, highlighted the concerns of UN human rights experts regarding the potential violation of the detainees' rights if they are forcibly returned to their countries of origin. According to the experts, Turkey was obligated under international law to refrain from deporting 101 members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light who were at serious risk of being subjected to human rights violations upon return to their respective countries. On the 22nd of September 2023 at the 54th session of the UN Human Rights Council, prominent Human Rights organisations, Human Rights Without Frontiers and CAP Freedom of Conscience presented a report about the case. Thierry Valle, the president of CAP freedom of conscience, detailed the conditions the members had been subjected to and the religious persecution they faced in their countries of origin. The report addressed EU governments present at the session and called upon them to issue humanitarian/asylum visas to all members of the faith currently detained in Turkey, with no safe haven to exercise their right to freedom of religion.
On the 28th June 2023, an oral statement was delivered by CAP freedom of conscience during a high level meeting of the Organization for security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna. In the statement, CAP/ Freedom of Conscience and Human Rights Without Frontiers addressed the violent pushback carried out by the Turkish authorities against the members, as well as the deportation orders issued by Ankara, exposing the detained families to the imminent risk of imprisonment, torture and even execution, particularly in the case of Iran.
