Miss Universe 2007

[edit]

Please do not revert my fixes to the table of delegates at Miss Universe 2007. The changes were made in accordance with the manual of style and intended to decrease the amount of space the list took up. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 06:51, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per the Wikipedia manual of style, only commonly used names for each delegate should appear in the table. This is an encyclopedia, not a fansite. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 06:58, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Binibining Pilipinas, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Feinoha Talk, My master 02:51, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, i personally asked her how her name is spelled and she told me it's with an X. — Lancini87 (talk) 03:26, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In a recent edit, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the appropriate variety of English used there. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, you can ask me on my talk page or you can visit the help desk. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ 04:56, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Universe 2012

Hi, all Peruvian news report that Cindy Mejia and Melissa Paredes will be the contestants in Miss Universe 2012. Do not speak nothing of Nicole Faverón or Giulianna Zevallos. Braulio Calmet (talk) 03:38, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Universe 2013

[edit]

Since it hasn't been confirmed by the Miss France Organization either way, I think that it is best to at least acknowledge that Hinarani de Longeaux may be going to Miss Universe (which honestly, seems more likely than not.) Lorphelin will likely be going to Miss World and de Longeaux to MU. But, since it hasn't been confirmed either way and since Lorphelin is Miss France, I have left her in the "expected contenstants" table with a sidenote that acknowledges that de Longeaux is a POSSIBILITY. This is just a temporary fix until more information is given by the MFO. I think this is fair, right? - Rararawr21 (talk} —Preceding undated comment added 20:48, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Uncertain if your deletion is vandalism, but please discuss on the talk page first to verify if it's legit or not or needs citing sources, yet/although some if not all is correct. Thank you! :) 99.129.112.89 (talk) 05:29, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Please do not remove properly sourced contributions to Miss Universe 2013, such as the Lithuanian and Romanian national final, because the language of the article is not in English. As for national final dates that only specify the month, these are also valid sources and are allowed for inclusion. Thanks! Mr. Gerbear|Talk 01:06, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed both sources to remove the confusion. c: Mr. Gerbear|Talk 05:21, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing a good job with sources on Miss Universe 2013! For the future, though, it would be useful to include the author, title, and access date of the article and not just the URL so that things can be verified easily. Check out Template:Cite web for how to do that easily. Just copy-paste the code "most commonly used parameters" and fill in the data needed. Mr. Gerbear (talk) 12:06, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Saludos, es para decirte que en el articulo de Miss Universo 2014 en español un usuario corrigió donde nació Kosovo, que realmente nació en Suiza, no en Albania como lo revertiste. [1] Jaam0121 (talk) 03:26, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

May 2018

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Miss Universe 2018. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. NewYorkActuary (talk) 12:02, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. NewYorkActuary (talk) 17:59, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Alex. You are risking a block for edit warring per the complaint at the noticeboard. There may still be time for you to respond and agree to accept consensus about Kyrgyzstan. The question of whether the sources for Kyrgyzstan are adequate is to be decided by the consensus of editors and not exclusively through your personal opinion. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 02:05, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Signatures

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

The Sierra Leone mystery

[edit]

Hi Alex, I was wondering the same thing about Sierra Leone yesterday, though I was pleasantly surprised when the winner popped up on the Instagram account. Are you sure it's not a reliable source? She's also listed as the winner here: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Face_of_Sierra_Leone I'm still hoping the country will be participating.--Rahu22 (talk) 02:37, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Universe 2018 page violations

[edit]

Hi Alex, There are two editors who are causing problems on the page. The first is DanaRhys, who is responsible for Sierra Leone and the Instagram sources, which are not legitimate. I've already tried to report this person and they have been given a warning, but they will not stop reverting the edits we make. If the country does participate, I will be very surprised. The second editor to watch out for is jjj1238, who has tried many times to change the country names of Slovak Republic to Slovakia and Korea to South Korea. It is very frustrating that we have to deal with these editors, but I don't know what else we can do, except to join forces and possibly file "edit war" complaints against them. For now, I am letting it go. I'll just wait until AFTER the pageant to make any further edits. But please, keep in touch! Michael --Rahu22 (talk) 23:10, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Universe 2007

[edit]

Hi, Alex Duilius I move your topic HERE since it's relevant with many editors concern back in the day when this page was created as you can read above. It's not a made up news, This is an old topic since this page was created back in 2006, as you can see that this Miss Universe 2007 Best National Costume Award section was deleted before so many times by the Miss Malaysia supporters or Malaysian who did not accept the victory that Miss Indonesia won the award. Please read the Miss Universe 2007#National costume controversy for details with stated newspaper references. It's very impossible to have the actual date (on 2007) reference for now since most of the url links that released before 2010 is not accessible on search engine and some pages were missing if you access it on 2021 (Which you can tell that this Miss Universe 2007 page also lack of on time references that still active). But it is a legitimate topic came with two different newspaper agency as stated on the references, and it's published on different year version as well, so It's clear and it is not a made up news!--Lukewon (talk) 14:23, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop Edit warring and Reverting

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Miss Universe 2007 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you.--Lukewon (talk) 11:24, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
