Greetings. You recently left a question on my talk page here: User_talk:MadScientistX11#The_Noor_Of_HAZRAT_ABU_TALIB_.28AS.29 I'm guessing you picked me because I'm a teahouse host. FYI, you can ask general questions in the teahouse using this link: Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions and then use the Ask a Question feature. Regarding your changes to Abu_Talib_ibn_Abdul-Muttalib I can't really give you much feedback I'm afraid. I know very little about Islam or Arab culture. The way Wikipedia works is there is almost no hierarchy here. For the most part no editor has any more authority than any other editor. Also, who an editor is doesn't really matter. Whether you have a PhD or some other credentials on some topic is mostly irrelevant. What matters are the arguments you can make and the references you can site. Arguments are mostly made by appealing to wikipedia:policies and also just common sense. The place where people have discussions is on the talk page for the specific article. So in this case the talk page for the article in question is here: Talk:Abu_Talib_ibn_Abdul-Muttalib If someone reverted an edit you made to that article the place to raise the issue is on that talk page. You can also contact the specific editor directly via their talk page as you did with me. However, in most cases it is best to start on the article talk page. The reason is there may be other editors who want to comment and you will be more likely to involve them in the discussion by raising the issue on the article talk page. Keep in mind that discussions can be emotional and can at times require a fairly detailed understanding of Wikipedia policies. My advise for a new editor is to start by editing some non-controversial pages first then once you get the feel for Wikipedia attempt some more controversial articles. Remember that just saying "I know X is true" counts for absolutely nothing. Did you ever watch Law and Order? Jack McCoy had a rule: "I only know what I can prove in court" on Wikipedia we have a similar rule: we only know what can be validated in good references. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection.
