Bessie Head; British Columbia

[edit]

Salutations, 70.67.193.176 !   Seeing your interest in Bessie Head and British Columbia, I sense a fellow Canadian behind the IP number ... The user Sothomensch is me, Tom Holzinger, a resident of both Montréal and Serowe, Botswana. Decades ago I was one of Bessie's closest friends in Serowe, which is where my interest originates. I would be interested in learning more about yourself. Cheers !   Sothomensch (talk) 08:50, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Sothomensch[reply]

My response

[edit]

Hi! I've responded to your statement on Wikipedia:Reference desk/Humanities. I'm posting a message here because anonymous editors can't be pinged, and the Talkback template only works for replies on talk pages. Diamond Blizzard talk 19:20, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

70.67.193.176, you haven't edited the article in a while, and haven't responded to the latest comment on the nomination. If you wish to pursue this, please be sure to promptly respond to issues like this. The nomination needs to progress if it is to remain open, so I hope we hear from you soon. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:36, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The reviewer's comment was to you (it was responding to your comment), and if the person who wrote the article that was merged into yours hasn't responded, then you have to go it alone, and do so right away. I'm sorry this happened—that you end up needed to do a great deal of work on material you didn't create—but it's something that can happen at DYK given Wikipedia's highly collaborative environment. I can absolutely understand that you might not want to undertake this, in which case the thing to do is to withdraw the nomination. But one way or another, you need to post now to the nomination page, because if you don't, the nomination is going to close due to inaction. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:41, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's not my deadline, it's the reviewer's. As I said above, you need to post to the nomination page, and I'd advise you to do so this weekend. You should also be keeping track of what's going on there, and responding to replies to you. Best of luck. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:04, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Wells Gray Park Cave discovery

[edit]

On 2 May 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Wells Gray Park Cave discovery, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a newly discovered cave has been temporarily named after a Star Wars character? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Wells Gray Park Cave discovery), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
