Same for me re: Easter. Can we designate a convenient place to keep track of the "3 amigos" articles we're working on? --Rosiestep (talk) 21:55, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

If not, we should rmv the ref and the content associated with it, unless it can be cited to a different ref. - That's very annoying as I took great care with the translation myself. It wasn't a translation problem though, it was a poorly worded rephrase of "ancient Indian and Egyptian philosophies". Some of the problems we're facing is the hook. I think we need to double check the article and source that it supports the hook exactly. And I don't just mean the nominator, we should all scrutinize it and check. I think we should decide upon a hook between the three of us before nomming and check before, see the Fiji suggestion.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:28, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

I corrected it, you didn't notice Nvv that in one article you said the largest and the other you said "until 2002". Whatever source you used to say "until 2002" should be used and whatever replaced it should also be mentioned.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:48, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld:I think there has been a mixup. Benson and Rehbock reference is of 2002, and the institute's website does not have a date. Hence, the sentence needs to be corrected. --Nvvchar. 15:29, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

A question about name
[edit]Hi, there is a tomb in Lahore which about which we are unsure - whose is it. Though popular belief and sources claim that it is of Muhammad Parviz, a son of Jahangir, some belief that it is of his son or even some say that it is of Dara Shikoh. Thats because Parviz died in Burhanpur and many contemporary historians write that he was buried somewhere in Agra. I want to create the article about this tomb. Would it be right to name the article Tomb of Parviz? Or should I name it something else? RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 14:32, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Royroydeb: The location of the tomb of Dara Shikoh is probably in Lodhi gardens or near Humayun's tomb or some underground location in Delhi. Even Obama wanted to know the location of Dara Shikoh's tomb. Jahangir built his own tomb in Lahore. May be his sons are also buried there. I have not come across any reference on Muhammad Parviz's tomb. Hence, Tombs of Jahangir and his sons may be a good title for your article. --Nvvchar. 17:04, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
DYK nomination of Cassava production in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cassava production in the Republic of the Congo

Dwarka
[edit]I suggest creating a main History of Dwarka and writing a condensed summary in the main article. Looks like a lot to be said for it. I think the main article should be a balanced overview and simplified. Agreed?♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:17, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
- There is already an article on History of ancient Dwarka here Dwarka Kingdom. Why not retain it like the Kathmandu history. Pruning is no problem. I will do it when I transfer it to main space. In the Dwarka article in the main space History is short which I have already adopted.--Nvvchar. 16:08, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

- @Char and @Dr. Blofeld: Regarding this sentence "The Boite and Piave drainage system belongs to the complex Dolomite Alps geology sequence made up of sedimentary rocks intruded with pyroclastic" in the Boite article, I couldn't find the reference, but it seems to me there should be a word after pyroclastic, i.e. rhyolites (which are mentioned in the Arribas ref)? --Rosiestep (talk) 01:38, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Do they need any more ref checking or c/e? --Rosiestep (talk) 03:42, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

- @Rosiestep: Dr. Blofeld For the Boite (river) suggestion of a hook ... that Cortina, as Italy's premier ski resort, has over 50 cable cars and lifts in Boite (river) valley? Today is the last day (7th day) for nomination.--Nvvchar. 06:57, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Na, better to have ...that according to legend, Sorapiss, a mountain in the Dolomites near Cortina d'Ampezzo, is the embodiment of a king?...♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:01, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Dr. Blofeld OK. We can include the img of the mountain I suppose.--Nvvchar. 07:06, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Dr. Blofeld The snippet text I read from ref 3 of the article Forte Tre Sassi reads:"... Uno dei bersagli preferiti degli italiani abbarbicati alla cengia Martini era l'austriaco forte Tre Sassi (2197 m), destinaton.. and google machine translation h gave this English version: "...One of the favorite targets of the Italians clinging to the ledge Martini was the strong Austrian Tre Sassi (2197 m), designed to ...". The same reference is now fully open and can be read totally.--Nvvchar. 11:32, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for nomming. Char can you check "The secondary valleys, which complete the river basin, are, in descending order and on the right bank, those of Visdende, Comelico Superiore, Auronzo, Boite and Zoldo, traversed, respectively, by the Silvella, or first branch of the Piave, the Padola, Ansiei, Boite, and Mae, which all flow into the main river in a rectangular direction." in the Boite article I find it confusing as to what is being said when you say "traversed". I find it confusing that valleys of a certain name can be crossed by different rivers! I think we'd be better off just saying, "Other rivers running in the vicinity include xxx" Also if they're notable rivers they should be red linked and I'll stub them ;-).♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:36, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

The first completed main hall housed a shrine to Guanyin; in a recessed area where many other female goddesses called the Queen of Heaven, the Goddess of the Earth, and Goddess of Childbirth are housed, which is said to represent, on a miniature scale, the island of Potalaka where there is a large shrine dedicated to Guanyin in the China Sea.
What does China Sea standing for? Is it the South China Sea, East China Sea or covering the whole areas? ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 12:12, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Muffin Wizard:Thanks a lot for starting the review. It is in Puto Island also meaning Potalaka, an island southeast of Shanghai, in Zhoushan prefecture of Zhejiang province in the East China Sea. [edit]Lidice
[edit]@Dr. Blofeld: @Rosiestep: I have started this User:Nvvchar/sandbox/ Memorial to the Children Victims of the War, Lidice slightly longer.
"Lidice was subject to carnage by the Nazis on 10 June 1942[3] during the Second World War II." -not sure how this is related to the monument as it says it commemorates those who died at Chelmo which is in Poland, nowhere near lidice.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:31, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld:I based it on this reading of this text... After the carnage the women of Lidice and children were not spared. Eighty-eight Lidice children were transported to Lovosice ...and then handed over to the Lodz Gestapo office, who in turn had them transported to the extermination camp at Chelmo some 70 kilometers away where they were gassed to death in Magirus gas trucks. Greek museums
[edit]How would you and Rosie feel about doing a series on Greek museums, User:Boleyn/List of museum articles tagged for notability. I created a lot of shortstubs back in 2008 and I believe most of them are notable and were wrongly tagged for notability as they're short. I think it would be good to get as many minimum expansions of them as possible. It would be very easy to get a x 5 expansion as most are not more than a line long. Ones like Archaeological Museum of Komotini etc should be easily expandable. See how it goes anyway.♦ Dr. Blofeld 06:55, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld: Sure. But we should also continue with our A-Z. Another 50 odd countries left. I have also given some suggestions for hooks for Sorapass and Boite (river) in above sections. --Nvvchar. 07:03, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, of course, the A-Z list is our main focus. If we could save that list somewhere though and try to salvage them gradually this would be good. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:05, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- N and D.B, we can use my sandbox for that list or to just keep track of what missing from the list. And, I like the idea of Greek museums.:) --Rosiestep (talk) 15:24, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Do you want to move them into yours or Nvv's work space to keep tabs on? We can cross them off the list as we go then. Some will be duds, I'll delete the ones which can't be expanded.♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:11, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Sounds good. There's a lot to get through but it would be a shame for them to be deleted! Something to gradually monitor anyway. The bare minimum for each would be ideal.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:31, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

- Nvv and @Dr. Blofeld: option2: ... that the most notable exhibit in the Archaeological Museum of Komotini is the gilded bust of Septimius Severus (193-211 AD)? - Done.--Nvvchar. 11:47, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
I want to address the building's name:
- The article currently calls it "Kulafah Al Rashidan" and I've linked here to ghits with this name.
- I couldn't access the Griswold or House refs
- The Cantalupo, Cybriwsky, Fuller references refer to the building as Grand Mosque without naming it.
- Carillet spells it "Kulafah Al Rashidin" (Great Mosque)
- Connell spells it "Kuaka Al Rashidin" (Great Mosque)
- Starbird spells it "Al Khulafa Al Rashiudin"
- The Norwegian wikipedia article: no:Al Khulafa Al Rashiudin. --Rosiestep (talk) 23:16, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: Hook suggestion ...that the Kulafah Al Rashidan Great Mosque was an initiative of Mussolini taken to impress the Muslim population of Africa to establish his African Empire?--Nvvchar. 01:36, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- I'm still not sure how to spell it; Kulafah Al Rashidan Great Mosque is probably not correct. How about if we call the article Al Khulafa Al Rashiudin to match up with the Norwegian wiki entry? --Rosiestep (talk) 01:54, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

- how about DYK ...that Kulafah Al Rashidan Great Mosque was built in Asmara in 1938 upon the initiative of Benito Mussolini to impress the Muslim population?...♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:35, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hold on Char and Dr. Blofeld. Why was this moved out of sandbox when we're still working on it? And why are we continuing to call the building Kulafah Al Rashidan Great Mosque when the sources don't support that? --Rosiestep (talk) 14:05, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld: There is some confusion.--Nvvchar. 14:48, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- Move it to whatever you think is most appropriate. Personally though I think we'd be better off using an English title of Great Mosque of Asmara in cases like this where the trans spellings are difficult. It's essentially known as the Great Mosque. Lots of hits in English sources. Given that we are moving editing history when creating the articles it doesn't make much difference anyway does it? The seven day rule still applies.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:49, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Moved it to Great Mosque of Asmara; I think that is the most suitable of all the alternatives. Regarding the 7 days rule, I have confirmed from the DYK rules page that the 7 days start when the article is moved into mainspace. We have to make sure that when moving or merging an article, the Edit Summary states it was moved from sandbox... and we all do this routinely anyway.

The submarine stuff is a bit strange. The image is of one from 1865, it's hardly likely that was the one used in World War II. I'd be tempted to delete most of that and just mention that a submarine wreck is there.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:57, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Isla San Jose would be seen before San Telmo if approaching from the south as the peninsula hides the island Rosiestep??
