Interpretive language

[edit]

@Manish basu: In this edit I removed some of the content you recently submitted, for a few reasons:

  1. Parentheticals are lazy. This is an encyclopedia, not a sports statistics table. Content should be written in proper English in clear sentences. Wedging parenthetical after parenthetical is not quality work.
  2. See WP:ANTAGONIST. Rather than having labels like "antagonist", clear character descriptions would communicate whether or not someone was an antagonist. "Charles is scheming drifter who is having an affair with Rajith's wife."
  3. Your label of "main antagonist" doesn't exactly make sense, because antagonists are usually main characters anyway, and if they are main antagonists, wouldn't they belong in the Main cast section?
  4. We don't need to be told who the boys and girls are. There's no need to say "Main female antagonist" when we can clearly see that they're female. This is a phenomenon I've only seen in Indian entertainment articles. Gender can be communicated through usage of pronouns in clear character descriptions. But apparently nobody who builds Indian television articles seems to understand what a character description is supposed to look like. See List of Millennium characters for an example of our goal.

Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:52, 26 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An antagonist can't be a main character? Who said?

[edit]

@Sufyan mohd: I don't understand this edit, or your edit summary "Aishwarya Sakhuja is not the lead character she is playing negative role." Who ever said that an antagonist couldn't be a lead character? What guidebook on television history are you reading? You can't tell stories without good characters and bad characters, so it's totally unclear why you think a "negative character" couldn't possibly be a lead. Have you ever heard of a series called Breaking Bad? The central character is a villain. How could you possibly justify that he wasn't the lead? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:13, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Once check other articals in wikipedia .In many articals only lead characters are mentioned not negative characters are shown in main lead but why only in Yeh hai chahatein the negative characters are mentioned. Sufyan mohd (talk) 05:35, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Does it occur to you that maybe the people who made those changes are ignorant and don't know what they're doing? That is, after all, a huge problem with most Indian entertainment articles. A "Main" cast member is a cast member who is central to the main storylines. Antagonists, if they are significant to those storylines, would absolutely be "Main". You can't have The Terminator without Arnold Schwarzenegger. You can't have The Empire Strikes Back without Darth Vader. Now if the producers didn't bother to give the antagonists starring credits, which should be clear from watching the series, then that's a different matter. But one should never assume that a villain can't be a lead character, and even more importantly, you should understand basic concepts about what the Wikipedia community wants its articles to look like. See MOS:TV, and most specifically WP:TVCAST. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:22, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Plot bloat

[edit]

@1150114ay: Hi there, re: these changes, your efforts are appreciated, but per WP:TVPLOT, the plot section shouldn't exceed 500 words per season. This isn't a trivial matter, since excessive plot summaries can constitute a derivative work, which is a copyright concern. Ideally, we should be focussing on the overall shape of the series, not episode-by-episode revelations. There might be an argument to summarise significant plot arcs, but even then, it would have to be brief. Alternatively, you could opt to create a list of episodes, which would allow you to write episode summaries up to 200 words, but the down-side is that you're 180+ episodes behind. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:51, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi have created a list of episodes, as suggested. GrottoVilla (talk) 17:57, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeh hai chahatein plot and episode list

[edit]

Hi a different section has been made - list of episodes where the plot is updated, regular viewers are updating the page. GrottoVilla (talk) 18:03, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jellysandwich01 please stop reverting the list of episodes.

[edit]

Hi there was a issue raised by jellysandwich01 that the plot section of this article was too long. Regular viewers of this show have been updating the plot but it’s unfair that jellysandwich01 is constantly reverting these edits despite being told that we can work together. I understand we have to cooperate as editors but it’s disrespectful when someone is using the excuse of substandard English and constantly reverting the edits.

Since the plot length was too long, what has been done is that a list of Episodes has been created, a new section has been made to accommodate the ongoing plot. This was suggested in a earlier topic in the talk page of this article.

If regular viewers are taking the time and effort to update the list, then what is the problem? Why is it still being reverted?

It’s okay if the new section - List of Episodes- is edited to make it more concise. If there are grammatical errors, we can work to correct those, suggestions are welcome. A sincere request to Jellysandwich01 who probably isn’t even watching the show to stop reverting edits which doesn’t even have the current updated plot. A new section LIST OF EPISODES has been created, please stop reverting it. GrottoVilla (talk) 17:57, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Two individuals, Preesha and Rudraksh, form a bond due to Preesha’s step-son, Saaransh. After many storms in their life, Preesha and Rudraksh profess love for each other. However, they keep parting ways, which eventually makes their bond stronger. The trials they face in life, with the backdrop of their young step-son forms the crux of “Yeh Hai Chahatein”.

In Delhi, gynaecologist Preesha Srinivasan is raising her nephew, Saransh, as a single mother, after her sister, Mahima, dies during childbirth. Saransh is a fan of Rudraksh Khurana, a rockstar who doesn't believe in love and is detested by Preesha.

Yuvraj fakes being in love with Preesha to be promoted as a judge by Gopal. After finding out that Saransh is Rudraksh's nephew, Rajeev's son, Yuvraj, blackmails him for money. On Preesha's and Yuvraj's wedding day, Yuvraj leaves the marriage and kills Rajeev, who had learned the truth about Saransh. Preesha takes the blame for the murder because she likes Yuvraj. Whilst, Rudraksh vows to avenge his brother's death. He learns that Saransh is Rajeev's son and believes that Preesha is Saransh's birth mother and Rajeev's ex-lover.

Yuvraj, who gets the promotion, sentences Preesha to be hanged after being bribed by Rudraksh. After learning that Saransh will get 50 lakhs per month till he reaches 21, as planned by Rajeev, Yuvraj decides to legally adopt Saransh to have a luxurious future by marrying Preesha. Rudraksh takes Yuvraj's place on their wedding day and marries Preesha to get full custody of Saransh as revenge and his brother's last wish. Preesha thinks of the well being of her son and hands Saransh's full custody to Rudraksh. Preesha is proved innocent with the help of her father and agrees to stay in the Khurana house for Saransh. To stop the child care department from taking Saransh, Rudraksha and Preesha act as a happy couple.

In the pretence of faking a romance for the sake of everyone and Saransh, they begin to have feelings for each other.

Yuvraj joins hands with Rahul to ruin Rudraksh, unaware that Preesha is close friends with Neerja. Rudraksh understands his feelings for Preesha but fails to express them. Rahul creates a misunderstanding between Rudrakash and Preesha, but due to his love for Preesha, Rudraksha struggles to keep her away even though he tortures her. Seeing Neerja trying to aid Preesha in proving her innocence, Yuvraj plots to kill her, but instead, Neerja slips into a coma.

Rudraksh and Keerti, Rudraksha's new co-singer, leave for a concert with the family, where he tries to make Preesha jealous of her. After Keerti is found dead, the families DNA samples are taken, and Sharda confesses her connection with Keerti, clearing that she had tried to save Keerti from dying but could not save her. Rudraksh discovers that Preesha isn't Saransh's biological mother and, despite their attempt, Sharda is arrested; however, Rudraksh finds a video that proves Sharda innocent. Neerja awakens from her coma, and Rahul confesses his evil deeds. Rudraksh scolds Rahul and goes after Preesha, apologising and confessing his love to her passionately in the rain.

Mahima is revealed to be alive with the secret intention of taking Saransh and receiving his trust fund. Saransh, however, refuses to accept Mahima as his mother. While attempting to steal money to get rid of Mahima, Saransh falls from the window and is hospitalised. Mahima reveals the truth about Saransh and her relation with the Khuranas. Balraj regrets his actions and accepts Saransh.

After Saransh recovers, Mahima files a custody case and wins his custody. Preesha learns Mahima had lied about her past and works with Rudraksh and Yuvraj to expose her. She pretends to betray Rudraksh and fakes her marriage with Yuvraj, while Rudraksh pretends to marry Mahima to stop her from leaving with Saransh.

Preesha confesses her love to Rudraksh, and they share a kiss at Christmas, whilst the couple works together to expose Mahima. However, Mahima finds out about their plan through Yuvraj and destroys the evidence against her. She switches Rudraksh with a doppelganger, Bhuvan, in the hopes of ruining the Khurana family. She makes Preesha misunderstand that she slept with fake Rudraksh which breaks Preesha’s heart and starts hating Rudraksh.

Balraj learns the truth and is murdered by Mahima and Bhuvan just as the real Rudraksh returns, who is arrested. Preesha then realises the imposter lacked Rudraksh's birthmark. Ahana and Preesha collaborate to expose the doppelganger and Mahima after Mahima takes over the MD of the Khurana Empire, which she thinks belongs to her. Having succeeded in catching Bhuvan and exposing Mahima, Rudraksh is released while Mahima is arrested.

Rudraksh and Preesha finally seem happy, and Rudraksh tells her that nobody will separate them again, and she agrees.

Rudraksh later finds his birth mother, Sulochana, and her son Kabir faking his disability. He brings them to live with them, unaware that they are after the property papers and Khurana's wealth after Balraj kicked out Sulochana, having learned she had an affair. Preesha learns the truth about them and unsuccessfully tries to reveal it to Rudraksh. Meanwhile Rudraksh tells Preesha that he wants to have a child with her.

Kabir tricks Ahana into helping them obtain the property by marrying him to receive custody of Saransh. A doctor assists Preesha to expose Kabir's fake disability to everyone, but Kabir has his goon CC kidnap Rudraksh. Mahima escapes jail with help from one of CC's men and kidnaps Rudraksh. CC kidnaps Saransh to trade with Mahima, but she kills him and takes Saransh. Preesha goes undercover and saves Rudraksh and Saransh. Mahima is caught but escapes.

The family moves to Goa. Preesha stops Ahana and Kabir's marriage and instead has Ahana marry Yuvraj. Ahana flees to London. Having learnt that Yuvraj married Ahana as per Preesha's plan, Rudraksh becomes upset with her while Mishka and Kabir elope and get married. Rudraksh saves Preesha from drowning.

Meanwhile, Mishka and Kabir get custody of Saransh for his trust fund, and Rudraksh and Preesha gather evidence against them. Kabir and Mishka kidnap Saransh and demand ransom; however, Mishka threatens to blow up herself and Saransh if the police are called. When Preesha brings the police, Mishka blasts the car which Saransh is in. As a result, Saransh and Mishka are presumed dead, and Rudraksh blames Preesha for this.

Rudraksh and Preesha sign divorce papers, which require months to legalise. Meanwhile, Rudraksh promises to never sing again after losing his son, and Preesha, seeing a vision of Saransh, almost falls off a cliff.

6 months later

[edit]

Preesha lives with Armaan Thakur and his daughter, Anvi, in Goa, after losing Saransh. On Anvi's birthday, Armaan asks Vasudha to teach her singing and dancing. Vasudha comes to Goa to find Preesha with the help of a private investigator who tells her Preesha is living with Armaan Thakur and his family in Goa. The mother and daughter duo decide to keep their relation a secret from the Thakurs. Meanwhile, Rudraksh now lives in Delhi with his two mothers Sharda and Sulochana. He works as a manager in a hotel in Delhi, where he meets Armaan's sister, Devika Thakur who is doing her internship in Delhi and staying in the hotel where Rudraksh works as "R.K.", the hotel manager. Rudraksh saves Devika from a goon who tries to molest her. Impressed, Devika starts to like him. One day, Sharda falls ill and Devika takes care of her until she's healthy again. While talking with Devika, Rudraksh learns that Preesha lives with Devika's family and decides to go to Goa to meet her.

Rudraksh and Preesha meet in Goa, but he mistakenly believes she has moved on, so he mistreats her.

Rudraksh and Preesha pretend not to know each other in front of the Thakurs. Rudraksh bonds with Anvi as he had saved her life earlier. Preesha lies to Rudraksh that she no longer loves him. Later, Rudraksh proposes to Devika. Preesha rejects Armaan's proposal. Rudraksh tries to kiss Devika in front of Preesha, but she interferes. Rudraksh is happy to see Preesha still cares about him.

The next morning Preesha fakes affection towards Armaan in front of Rudraksh. Rudraksh does the same towards Devika. Preesha requests him to stop playing with Devika's feelings. He asks her if it bothers her and if his touch still affects her and they share a moment.

Rudraksh convinces Preesha to return to Delhi. Rudraksh reacquires half of the Khurana house. Preesha is affected by seeing Rudraksh and Devika's roka ceremony, so he offers to cancel the wedding if she confesses she still loves him and is jealous.

The wedding festivities begin, but Rudraksh tells Preesha that he will announce that she is his wife if she stops the wedding herself.

Rudraksh learns that Mishka is still alive and confronts her and Ahana. They say that Saransh died but Rudraksh suspects they are lying, so he and Preesha follow Ahana and Mishka. They rent an apartment to spy on them.

While they live together, Rudraksh and Preesha become closer, but she tries to resist him. Ahana lies that she has adopted a daughter named Krishna who they believe was Saransh. Ahana tells Rudraksh and Preesha that Saransh is dead, so the couple spend the night grieving together. Rudraksh tells Preesha that he want to resume their relationship, but she declines.

On the wedding day Armaan and Devika are upset when they learn that Rudraksh and Preesha are married. Devika is murdered and Preesha is arrested. She asks Rudraksh to take care of Anvi and he promises her that he will get her out and begins to investigate.

At the trial, Preesha is accused of living with Rudraksh for two days, having an affair with him, and killing Devika out of jealousy, her character is questioned. Rudraksh learns that his mother, Sulochana, accidentally pushed Devika, leading to her death. At the trial, he clears Preesha of responsibility for the death. Sulochana tells him she will never forgive him for choosing Preesha over her and is sentenced to five years of imprisonment. Rudraksh asks Preesha to come home with him, but Armaan stops her, using Anvi as an excuse, and vows to keep them apart.

Rudraksh goes to Thakur's house and accuses Preesha of using Anvi as an excuse to not return to him, when she is actually still hurt at the accusation he put on her for Saransh's death. He tries to resume their relationship, but Armaan uses Anvi to separate them. Armaan takes Preesha to Shimla, spikes her drink and tries to get closer to her in order to make Rudraksh misunderstand Preesha.

Rudraksh follows them to Shimla, fights Armaan, and rescues the intoxicated Preesha. The next day, he lies, telling her that they made love. He asks her to resume their relationship, but Armaan arrives and fights Rudraksh, who falls and is injured. Seeing this, Preesha misunderstands, thinking Armaan pushed Rudraksh and becomes furious. So Armaan helps her save him by arranging blood. When Rudraksh awakens, Preesha says she want to return to him and blames Armaan for Rudraksh's condition, but Rudraksh tells Preesha that it was a accident and he tried to save him, so Preesha apologizes to Armaan and he gives her permission to return to Rudraksh.

Later, before she can tell Rudraksh she never married Armaan and that she is still his wife, he gets a call from Bunty about his recording studio being sold and he surmises that Saransh is still alive if the trust fund is being used. The next day Anvi's biological mother and Armaan's wife, Sania Dobash, tells him she will reveal Ahana's whereabouts and Saransh if he marries her. Rudraksh orchestrates a fake wedding with her to gain information about Saransh, but does not tell Preesha.

Seeing the new couple together infuriates Preesha. Rudraksh tells her that he feigned his relationship with Preesha to avenge their son's death, but Preesha refuses to believe this. Sania tries to hurt Preesha, but Rudraksh interferes.

Ahaana, via a video, tells Rudraksh to listen to Sania and her for Saransh. At Rudraksh's hotel, Preesha organises a party for Armaan's clients and has Rudraksh serve her drinks and feed her food. She makes him jealous by dancing with Armaan and then seduces him. Rudraksh wants to tell her the truth, but Sania interferes. Preesha hires a private investigator and learns that Sania is Anvi's mother and Armaan's wife.

Preesha tells Rudraksh and everyone that Sania is Armaan's first wife, but Rudraksh is blackmailed by Sania and mistreats Preesha. Sania blackmails Rudraksh to tarnish Preesha's father, GPS's, reputation but he tells GPS the truth of Saransh. GPS is imprisoned. Sania causes Preesha to believe that Rudraksh hurt her father. Preesha asks Armaan to marry her in a scheme to get Rudraksh to confess. GPS tells Rudraksh that Preesha never married Armaan, so Rudraksh says he will not allow Preesha to marry anyone else. He tells Sania that she has to help him find Saransh before Preesha's wedding and that their marriage was fake. It is then revealed that Sania was hired by Armaan to separate him and Preesha. As Preesha's festivities begin, Rudraksh is the first to put Haldi on her, he colours her all over. But Sania takes him away to find Saransh, as Ahaana and Mishka are about to flee the country with Krishna.

Preesha bonds with Krishna, since he reminds her of Saransh. On the wedding day, Krishna runs away and goes to the venue, as he does not want to leave with Ahaana. Rudraksh arrives, tells Preesha he loves her and that their son is alive. She tells him she did not get married, and that she knew everything. It is then revealed that she stopped the wedding before he arrived and she tells him she has found Saransh. She presents Krishna to him and reveals he has Saransh's birthmark. But Saransh does not remember them.

Sanya brings Ahaana and Miska, whom Preesha slaps. Ahaana explains that after kidnapping Saransh and they changed his face. They are then arrested. Sharda tells Preesha to return to return to the Khurana house with Rudraksh. Before they leave, Armaan says he wants to get Rudraksh and Preesha married again, but he really intends to divide them.

A doctor suggests recreating situations to restore Saransh's memory.

Rudraksh and Preesha celebrate their roka and get engaged.

Rudraksh and Preesha's mehendi starts. Armaan turns Anvi against them, so that the wedding stops. But Rudraksh calms Anvi as she was sad seeing Preesha, Rudraksh, and Saransh together. Rudraksh feeds Anvi and Preesha, but Armaan is jealous of them and a fight breaks out between Anvi and Saransh. Preesha scolds Anvi as she pushes Saransh to the ground. Anvi is sad, so Sanya uses this opportunity to manipulate Anvi.
