The link at "Prince Silian who is reputed to have kept court there in the 3rd and 4th centuries" redirects to the Welsh town of Silian, which takes its name from Saint Sulien, to whom the village church is consecrated. Hits at Google Scholar for "Prince Silian" bring up only Dorothy Hamilton's Best Tea Shop Walks in the South and West of Wales; Hamilton, the source of the suggested etymology, to the contrary notwithstanding, Saint Sulien is the more credible etymology, IMO.--Wetman (talk) 17:34, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
