Birth Date
[edit]This resource states that Filming began on Rita's 19th birthday, 14 March 1961., confirming that the birth date is 1942. Most probably a site dedicated to the actress has it right, while IMDB has it wrong. Maurog 08:53, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
NOTE: The actress herself has addressed this issue of the mis-reporting of her birth date. See her quoted comments here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.98.11.205 (talk) 19:25, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
As of 16 October 2008, the IMDB has corrected their error and now (correctly) reports the actress' date of birth as 14 March 1942. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rjd0309 (talk • contribs) 04:30, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Pix and Wiki's main goal
[edit]Wiki exists to educate, so I question when a Wikipedia article uses the most recent picture of someone, instead of the most characteristic one of them. Using the most recent picture isn't a policy. I just checked Peter O'Toole and found, quite properly, two pix of him from Lawrence of Arabia, instead of a snapshot from the year he turned eighty. Rita Tushingham has certainly matured into a gracious lady, but my film students should also see a shot of her as the little Mod sprite, a character she trademarked in British films of the Sixties.Profhum (talk) 16:30, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that teaching your film students to think of 'little mod sprite' as an appropriate way to refer to a female actor is considered appropriate these days. Do you refer to male actors from the same era as little mod sprites? Or might the terminology be an insight into your way of viewing young females? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.65.125 (talk) 23:58, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
Relationships
[edit]The information box says that she began a current relationship with Hans-Heinrich Ziemann in 1994. But the article states that she now lives alone in London, based on a source dated 28th January 2020. Presumably the couple are no longer together. I would have changed the information box entry but don't know how to word it because there are no other clues if, when, or why their relationship ended. The couple did attend an event in London in June 2014. 2600:1700:EA01:1090:9DB7:1A01:6654:5E31 (talk) 00:31, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
