Some Evangelist would tell you that Mormons are not Christian based on the fact that Mormons use an additional book in their scriptures called the Book of Mormon. So, some would assume that Rick is not a Christian and only a Mormon. But others would say that he is not a Mormon and only a Christian since he coaches at an Evangelical Christian school and Mormons would never take their kids to a Evangelical Christian school where theology is different from there's.
Here are the facts. Aguilera is a Mormon who attended Brigham Young University and is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These are facts based on University and church records. And yes it is also true that he coaches baseball at the same private Evangelical Christian school that his kids attend.
Now, is it wrong for a Mormon or Evangelist to work or attend a private school that teaches a different theology then theirs? Of course not; there are a lot of Mormons that send their kids to private schools that offer a better education; but on the flipside not too many Evangelicals would send there kids to a private Mormon school. Why???... Because Evangelicals view Mormons as a non-Christian religion, and fear that the theology taught to their children.
In closing let me give you some insight as to if Mormons are Christian. The official name of the Mormon Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are regularly called Mormons do to their belief in the Book of Mormon, and because of their belief in the Book of Mormon, Evangelical Christians refer to the Mormon faith as a non-Christian religion. But on the contrary The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also believes in the Bible; and they too believe in Christ, hence the official name of the Church. So with this said the church is classified as a Christian religion. Now back to the original question of whether Rick Aguilera was Mormon or Christian.
