Milhist assessment

[edit]

I've assessed this article as Start-Class approaching B-Class (note that Milhist does not use C-Class). At the time of assessment it meets three of the five B-Class criteria. The two areas that might benefit from further attention are:

  • Referencing: although this is generally good, with a variety of sources used and additional helpful information (such as access dates) included, there are some minor issues remaining. IMDB is not regarded as a reliable source, and the Flight Journal review links to redtailreborn.com. A link to the original review would be better, and what makes Flight Journal a reliable source?
  • Prose: there are quite a few grammatical errors in the article, so an independent copyedit might be useful. Some examples (not an exhaustive list):
Repetition. "The film..." (mostly para 1, Details but elsewhere too), "Among those..." (para 2, Details)
Surplus words, probably the left-overs of copyediting. One example is "The film even presents government documents calling deriding black men as substandard and 'cowards'", but I spotted others too.
Although I passed the B2 criterion, the sentence "...the bravery and heroism of the Tuskegee Airmen..." comes over as less-than-neutral. Wikipedia has no opinion; we can quote a source as saying this, but not say it ourselves.
Last para, Details: what's a "warbird"?

Congratulations on an interesting article, and I hope this assessment helps with its development. All the best, EyeSerenetalk 21:34, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
