Sourcing for "described as..."

[edit]

I think as much as I do not like there has to be some weasel stuff at this point. She is just emerging. There are just a few articles about her although the publications are notable enough in my view to have this article written. There are not enough cites to have the article to just say outright that she is ethereal or she has dark lyrical content. Deleting the lines would make the Wikipedia police happy but would keep the accurate information that she has been described as such in reputable publications from the reader. Singing style and lyrical content are some basic reasons I would assume readers decide to read an autobiographical article on a musician.

This article is a stub and all of one day old as I write this. Another words I expect the look a of to change radically from my first draft. The worst thing one can do if one has a disagreement with something is putting in a snippy comment. Either delete stuff you think does not belong or rewrite it to conform with Wikipedia standards Edkollin (talk) 06:20, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the reader only has your say-so to go by, then it shouldn't be in the article. A pop magazine wouldn't publish an article written for an encyclopedia; an encyclopedia isn't supposed to contain glowing fan pieces. The respective media have their own natures.
As for the part about readers deciding to read an autobiographical article on a musician: Wikipedia is not where people should be looking for autobiographies! If you want to post an autobiography, post it on your own website, or your blog, or MySpace, or any place that's an appropriate location for such a thing! Wikipedia is not those things. If you haven't already, you ought to read WP:NOT and WP:AUTOBIO#Creating_an_article_about_yourself. —Largo Plazo (talk) 06:30, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The reader here is not going by my say so for ethereal vocal style and dark lyrical content. The cited sources in the External Links are saying those things. If you feel the sources are unreliable or I did not represent what they said correctly rewrite or delete it. Edkollin (talk) 08:30, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
True, you used the word "described", which itself may be factual—but then you failed to say who describes her singing as one thing or another, and provide no reference to back it up. I've tagged this part for clarification. If nothing more specific is given, then I'll delete it again as an unestablished claim. —Largo Plazo (talk) 11:49, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changed all the external links articles to regular citations as requested. Put material that was deleted back in because an article used for most of the material was deleted making it seem as if the article was largely uncited. Edkollin (talk) 07:01, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
