Title of the article

[edit]

Please don't change the title of the article without any discussion. The article is mainly about the family, its activities and its history. "Nawab of Dhaka" was just a title. Though the original (and more suitable) title of the article is "Dhaka Nawab Family", it couldn't be moved to that title so I've moved it to its current title which is similar to some extent. --Zayeem (talk) 14:25, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nawab of DhakaNawab Family of Dhaka – Most common term to denote the family, see its entry in Banglapedia for example. I had moved the article to the proposed title earlier as you can see in the previous discussion thread before it was moved again to 'Nawab of Dhaka'. The term Dhaka Nawab Family is also used quite often which is used in the official website of the family; in fact this was the original title of the article before somebody moved it unilaterally. The rationale given was to go with the naming format of other nawabs. However, unlike other nawabs like Nawabs of Bengal and Murshidabad, Nawab of Awadh etc who were basically ruling dynasties in their respective regions, Nawabs of Dhaka were mainly zamindars, hence, this article doesn't really fall in the same naming format as them. Scope

[edit]

The article's scope and content doesn't seem to match the title. The original title of the article was "Dhaka Nawab Family" which was unilaterally moved to "Nawab of Dhaka", twice. I initiated an RM to move it back to the original title but it was closed as "not moved". Now the issue is that "Nawab of Dhaka" was only the title of the head of the family which was first conferred upon Khwaja Alimullah and ended with Khwaja Habibullah. The article's content, however, significantly covers history and activities of the other members of the family. To clear this ambiguous scope, I suggest either the article be moved back to the original title or the article's content be confined within the history the "Nawab of Dhaka" title and and activities of the title holders. --Zayeem (talk) 17:14, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Move not needed. Keep Nawab of Dhaka here, and start a Dhaka Nawab Family article. Move the family information to that article. Aditya(talkcontribs) 01:38, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm removing the family information, will create the article later. --Zayeem (talk) 17:02, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps, WP:ANOTHER needs to be followed. If you move something to another article, then move first, and remove later. Otherwise the information will not be on Wikipedia before it is added to the second article. Aditya(talkcontribs) 16:22, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
May be. I thought I would create a comprehensive draft first before moving it to the mainspace as it would be considered a content fork otherwise. Now that seems to be the only way forward. --Zayeem (talk) 16:41, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
