Constructive criticism
[edit]Constructive criticism would be apperciated, not comments which mean nothing. - John —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.140.32.233 (talk • contribs) 16:21, 5 June 2006 (UTC) Myleene had two small children when she joined Hear'say but I have found nothing at all about them in the article (I may have missed it). It became an issue in a conversation with Simon Cowell in the original programme about the band Hear'Say at the time he formed it. She hadn't mentioned them and he was cross that she'd kept it hidden. I think her mother had taken them while she was persuing her career in music and television. It has puzzled me that I can't find references to them on the web, including this wikipedia page.
Dates in this article
[edit]Please could editors contributing to this article format full dates like this: 1 January 2000
Do not use ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd...) Linking the dates means that the date will be formatted according to individual users' preferences. As it's a UK-related article, it should be date-before-month. (Years on their own need not be linked). Thanks, JRawle (Talk) 13:19, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
There is no point in linking every single mention of a particular date except when it concerns significant historical events. If we look up say 1949 we should expect to find the major related events listed, not a massive but totally useless list of every single article which mentions that year. Rodparkes 06:16, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Enough of the bikini already!
[edit]It may be relevant information that Klass auctioned off her bikini for charity, but is it really necessary to mention this three times? The whole article seems overlong and diffuse, and could do with some serious editing down. Rodparkes 06:16, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Myleeneklass movingon cover.jpg
[edit]Image:Myleeneklass movingon cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:10, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Potential edit war
[edit]Please do not start an edit war about the British/English issue. If you break the WP:3RR, you 'will be blocked. Use the talk page to discuss. Thanks. PS, have a look at Wikipedia:Nationality of people from the United Kingdom. GedUK 18:09, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the post GedUK. I am not trying to start an edit war, I just wanted to keep the page in the original state. Many other pages use England and not UK, that's why I thought I am doing the right thing. Looking at the above links, I still keep on what I am saying. Looking at the following page, it states (when referring to UK): Occurs occasionally, but is considered by many to be a lazy option. I could be wrong, so I would appreciate others' comment. Kind regards, LouriePieterse 07:11, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Well said, GedUK.
- No need for any edit war here, so, please - everyone - don't change it again until we've reached a WP:CONSENSUS here.
The suggestion: Change references to England to UK or Great Britain, per this edit by Lemonade100 (talk · contribs)
- Strong oppose - There is no compelling reason for this change. It is extremely rare to refer to a place name in the UK as Norfolk, Great Britain - it is far more common to say Norfolk, England. In addition, the suggestion that "Great Britain" is the same as "United Kingdom" in
Great Britain
is factually incorrect. The reference (which is a poor, primary source, by the way) describes her father as English, not British. A Google search for "Myleene Klass" English [1] gives 78,500 hits; "Myleene Klass" British [2] gives 62,100. No clear difference there. Let's see what the consensus makes of this. Chzz ► 07:39, 26 October 2009 (UTC)- Also, please note: whatever is chosen, it should not be wikilinked, per WP:OVERLINK. Chzz ► 08:12, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Are there any sources where she talks herself about whether she identifies as British or English? Not necessarily where she answers such a direct question, but where she refers to herself as english or british? GedUK 09:18, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
In Britain is is far more common to refere to the country as "Britain", "Great Britain" or "United Kingdom" however England is still used. Regarding nationality "British" is used far frequently by the public and soley by the general Media, such as the BBC. I know this may vary in other Anglephone countries this may differ this is noticed in the way the British often make satire of the way Americans refere to Britain as "England" as she IS British/English I think it should remain as Great Britain (or UK etc). I hope you will consider these arguments for GB rather than England. --Lemonade100 (talk) 18:11, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- In the cited reference there is referred to her father as Austrian/English. This bio is on her website, so I assume that she resembles with that, meaning that should would be preferred to be called English. The media refers a lot of the time to the UK, or Britain, such as here: Myleene Klass is one of the UK's most in demand and successful entertainers. I believe that when we would refer to her nationality one should be more specific. Kind regards, LouriePieterse 06:14, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
UK, Great Britain - The name of the country is The United Kingdom of Great Britain, so UK or Great Britain is perfectly acceptable, but England is NOT. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.97.183.197 (talk) 17:20, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, it's the United Kingdom of Great Britain AND Northern Ireland which constitutes the UK. GB simply refers to Scotland, Wales and England. England IS a constituent country of the UK and therefore is PERFECTLY acceptable. 94.7.116.171 (talk) 21:07, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Lack of references
[edit]Most statements in this WP:BLP are unreferenced. I have removed some and done some tagging, but it needs some serious work to bring it up to standard.--Pontificalibus (talk) 13:49, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- The article in general is too long for a minor celebrity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.97.183.197 (talk) 17:16, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
"Role model for women" is not really a valid occupation, is it? Most of the occupations listed in that box look like they were added by an over-excited 12-year-old with a less than neutral perspective on Ms. Klass. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.136.18.22 (talk) 15:46, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
