"Released: 2015"

[edit]

Mill's forthcoming album is scheduled to be released in 2015. It has not been "released". Nothing has been released in 2015 yet, it is still 2014. I'm sure he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he does not have control over space and time. - SummerPhD (talk) 04:47, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can't decide to change the format of these music articles and enforce it on only one page, that's asinine. If you'd like to find every single page on Wikipedia that says "Released: 2015" be my guest. But you can't only do it here, it's inconsistent as well as confusing and frustrating for readers.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Funkatastic (talkcontribs) 01:43, January 7, 2015

Please stop indicating that all of your edits are "minor".
Please remain civil. Labeling my actions "asinine" is certainly a personal attack.
The album has not been "released". Please explain how saying it has been "released" is verifiable. I am also unclear how saying an album that is scheduled for release is scheduled for release is "confusing" while saying an album that has not been released has been released. Yes, I am sure there are other articles that say things that are plainly false. That is not a reason to make the same mistake in this article. If you would care to cite a policy that makes it clear we should be including obviously incorrect information, I'd be more than happy to read it. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:41, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah yeah, we get it, you can't admit when you're wrong. The thought that an idea you came up with isn't correct must be very hard. This is a communal effort and shooting down any idea that isn't your own is, asinine. Considering any idea that contradicts your own, is also asinine. If you think that's personal then maybe you're wrong again. I'm not calling you asinine, I'm calling your actions asinine. Because they are, if you really are that upset I can refrain from using that word (because that's how a communal effort works) but do not try and call it a personal attack to victimize yourself.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Funkatastic (talkcontribs) 21:05, January 7, 2015‎

Please discuss content, not editors. WP:NPA is policy. - SummerPhD (talk) 21:24, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Third opinion

[edit]

I have requested a third opinion on this topic at WP:3O.

The album Dreams Worth More Than Money is apparently scheduled to be released at some point this year.[1] It has not been released. Should the table here (and on related pages) say that the album was "Released: 2015" or that it is "Scheduled: 2015" or some similar wording? - SummerPhD (talk) 21:32, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Third opinion. Since this album has not been released, I think using the word "released" is liable to mislead most readers. I will also say, for the record, that while calling someone's actions asinine may fall just outside the definition of personal attack, it usually says far more about the caller that the callee.—Neil P.
