Lack of Singles List[edit]

Hello. There's no list of singles. Loyal to Metal (talk) 19:26, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Loyal to Metal is this referring to a specific article, or to the WikiProject page? QuietHere (talk | contributions) 06:15, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting discographies[edit]

Just out of curiosity, are there any criteria to split a discography article into "Albums discography" and "Singles discography"? I've been wondering about this for a while and don't know where else to ask. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 03:06, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed! Why do some artists have both their albums and singles discographies listed, while other artists, like Celine Dion, only have their singles discography listed and not their albums discography? WikiWizard457 (talk) 13:10, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I guess I’m more referring to the “Pop Discographies” page. WikiWizard457 (talk) 13:12, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As with most split discussions, it typically comes down to size of the page. Celine Dion's albums and singles discographies are both very long, so it makes sense to separate them. Meanwhile, other artists have discographies small enough that they can reasonably fit in a single page, or even a section of the artist's article. If a section gets too long, then consider splitting, so long as there is enough reliable coverage to justify the page. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 15:24, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your response, but I’m sorry, I wasn’t very clear. On the list of Pop Discographies page that lists all the discographies of pop artists, why do some artists who have split discographies have both their albums and singles discographies listed, but others, like Celine Dion, only have their singles discography listed? Shouldn’t her album discography be listed too? I didn’t see a way to edit the page and add it. WikiWizard457 (talk) 16:23, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@WikiWizard457: If you're referring to Category:Pop music discographies, I just added it. If you want to understand how, give WP:PAGECAT a read. Might be worth checking out the rest of that page and WP:CAT while you're at it just to be sure you understand how they work. And if somehow that wasn't what you were referring to, then please link the page you had in mind, because I couldn't find it. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 17:10, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! That was what I was referring to. I appreciate your help and information! 🙂 WikiWizard457 (talk) 17:18, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kicking Harold discography[edit]

Hello, should I make a Kicking Harold discography page? Many thanks, TomGreene16 (talk) 18:44, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@TomGreene16 no, you shouldn't. First off, because I don't think the band is notable enough to have their own article and have started an AfD to determine so. And secondly, because there's not enough information or sourcing in the band's article to justify moving anything out. Discography pages should be reserved for when the discography section of a band's article gets overwhelmingly large, and this is just a list of albums with release years and no other info. Far from overwhelming. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 20:06, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply] (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

Hello, can someone take a look at User:'s edits? To me they seem disruptive, because of the large changes made on discography pages. Thanks in advance -- Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 04:32, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have notified WikiProject Hip hop of this discussion. Classicwiki (talk) If you reply here, please ping me. 04:37, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, it looks as though the changes they are making are correct. The biggest issue is that they aren't always following the MOS for formatting, but all their additions look to be real, not vandalism. Richard3120 (talk) 14:07, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
