Is it possible that someone might have a resource on the time period of this work? What of the time period for its author? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.70.205.20 (talkcontribs)

The author, Diogenes Laertius probably lived in the period 200-250 AD. This has to be inferred from the contents of his work, because we know zilch otherwise about his life. Wareh 19:16, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
