Two questions

[edit]
  • The article says that Boone was a member of "the Know-Nothing Party." The Know-Nothing movement was a wide movement that elected candidates running on Whig, Democratic, and Republican tickets before coalescing into a party called the American Party. There was never any "Know-Nothing Party" as such. So, what was his actual party affiliation?
  • "He was elected mayor on an anti-immigrant platform. Although Boone won, there were claims that the votes of German and Irish immigrants in Bridgeport, which was not yet a part of the city, had not been counted." This is kind of a puzzling statement. If Bridgeport was not yet part of the city, why would its residents get to vote in the election? --Jfruh (talk) 19:23, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As best I can tell from the references I added, he ran on the "American" ticket. There was some mention of the "Native American" party, but I'm not sure whether the "Native" was actually part of the title, or meant as an adjective. I've gone with "American" until I learn better.
Bridgeport was actually incorporated a few years earlier, but there seems to have been some confusion about organization. I've changed the text to reflect that. Sam Paris (talk) 14:37, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discrepancies

[edit]

The information about Levi Boone's mother and the manner and date of his father's death, do not match the information on Squire Boone's entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.214.45.131 (talk) 21:50, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting, my source is Carbutt, I wonder what his source was? A little more digging is in order,I think. Thanks! Sam Paris (talk) 03:30, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
