Time Signature

The image of the opening riff of the song shows a time signature of 4/4 and the riff develops with this signature. Shouldn't it be 12/8, or use triplets? Pepe Ochoa (talk) 20:08, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Apollo 13

-I think there's some confusion in regards to this song being in Apollo 13. If the scene in question is the one where the "broadcast" occurs, I'm fairly certain the beginning riff of the song is being confused with Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit In The Sky". It would be an anachronism if "La Grange" (recorded 1973) appeared in Apollo 13 (set in 1970) but not "Spirit in the Sky" (recorded 1969). Also, the lyrics of "Spirit in the Sky" are more consistent with the plot of the film (it's about a spacecraft "in the sky") than those of "La Grange", which is about a bordello. Verification would simply require a viewing of the film by someone who can recognize both songs. "Spirit in the Sky" is slower, but the riffs are almost identical. It appears that at this point the mention of "Apollo 13" is removed from the article. Checking the track listing for the soundtrack album shows Spirit in the Sky on that album but not La Grange. FiggazWithAttitude (talk) 14:34, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

Alignment Issues

The alignment around Charts and Appearances And Covers is all shot, with the riff image breaking up the text and the edit buttons aligned down beneath the right-column section. This edit removed 11 of the 12 listed versions, only one of which had a source. It might be useful to have confirmation here that all 11 were checked and found to be wholly lacking as per WP:COVERSONG. Producer

My 1973 vinyl cover just says: "Thanks to ROBIN BRYAN / BRIAN STUDIO and TERRY MANNING / ARDENT STUDIO". It doesn't say who engineered which tracks and where. (I guess I'm assuming here that "engineer" also means "mixer", as there is no separate mixer credit.) Anyone got any better sources? But it does very clearly say "Produced by BILL HAM." I would support inclusion of the quote by Gibbons, from his 2015 interview for Rolling Stone, as long as it is properly attributed:

You had this explosion of Southern rock. But Texas was different — Southern enough but off to the side. We were extolling the virtues of our proximity to Mexico and that gunslinger mentality. "La Grange" was one of the rites of passage for a young man. It was a cathouse, way back in the woods. The simplicity of that song was part of the magic — only two chords. And the break coming out of the solo — those notes are straight Robert Johnson. He did it as a shuffle. I just dissected the notes.
