Dot in Reboot

[edit]

IMDB is saying Kathleen Barr voiced Dot Matrix in ReBoot, not Soucie. Who is right? - Bloodshedder 04:00, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Remake?

[edit]

I'm thinking this article is too jumbled, and that rather than randomly mentioning the roles she has portrayed, we simply list them in alphabetical order? They're certainly mentioned out of any memory of mine. Tyciol 12:35, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It does need some lists of some sort (shows, movies, games) instead of being jumbled into a couple of paragraphs. Bloodshedder 01:05, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Has anyone looked at articles for seiyus? We can use their pattern for filmography for this article.Alphapeta (talk) 02:30, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shin-Chan

[edit]

This article states that Shin-Chan has not aired in USA. Does this refer to the specific UK version, or an American version (which has shown briefly.)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.217.217.215 (talkcontribs) 03:30, 30 September 2006

this may have the wrong info, but

it says she plays dusty a male character on futurama. I believe she plays Hubert The Cloned boy of the old professor — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.26.131.217 (talkcontribs) 19:46, 6 June 2007

She's not best known as something from Sonic

[edit]

She is easily best known as Phil and Lil from Rugrats, come on, the show lasted what, ten+ years and had a few movies, how would a character on a show that nobody but sonic fans remembers be remembered more than Phil and Lil? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.29.155.240 (talk) 12:02, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Resume

[edit]

This page reads like a resume. I wonder how much of it she wrote herself... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.73.1.37 (talk) 08:52, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Verizon commercial?

[edit]

So I was watching this commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O30bXECD36I&feature=player_embedded), and I noticed the doll's voice sounded JUST like Soucie, specifically, Lil DeVille. And knowing how prolific she is I wouldn't be surprised if it WAS her. But I can't get this clarified, as mere commercials don't credit all the people that were in them. Can someone help? Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.175.116.65 (talk) 17:12, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kath's birthdate

[edit]

Just because someone has the same name living in the same area, with 17 million other people, does not mean that they are the same person. All the sources I could find indicated that this Kath Soucie was born in 1967. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nutster (talkcontribs) 05:13, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t think she was born in Ohio. I went to the Ohio Birth Index and there is no birth record of her. Sadly, Wikipedia does not use primary sources from ancestry, familysearch, or myheritage but they are more reliable about info, but per WP:BLPPRIMARY no source cannot be used to collect data about her birth place or birth date. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 20:10, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's more possible for her to have been born in 1954 than in 1967, having seen The Incredible Journey of Doctor Laurel which was filmed in 1979, there she is over 18 years old. Most likely someone wrote 1967 as her DOB in WIkipedia and from then on all the other Internet websites wrote it down too. However Intelius, has a Kath E. Soucie is 57 living in California, and no Kath E. Soucie who are 44. Intelius is a reliable source if you ever saw one and it cannot be influenced by Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.124.57.4 (talk) 14:53, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Public records sites like Clustrmaps on the internet can be pretty reliable. I've tested them with people whose birthdays I know and it got the birthdates right every time. Kath Soucie is a pretty rare name in the US and the only record I could find in Los Angeles, the city where she lives, was of a woman living in Pacific Palisades, born in November 18, 1953. Even though Wikipedia does not allow those sites as sources as they have phone numbers in them and can be misused, they are still quite accurate from my experience. But I understand the dangers of having links with phone numbers in then and agree that links that should not be present on the site.Sausage Link of High Rule (talk) 01:10, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the birthdate. Contary to the assertion by the IP, Intelius is not a reliable source, and the comment that "it cannot be influenced by Wikipedia" is unintelligible and irrelevant.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:39, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to Voice Chasers her birthadate is 20 february 1967. Egon Eagle (talk) 19:43, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not a reliable source.--Bbb23 (talk) 04:07, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to make any trouble but, how do you konw? Other website is written 20 february 1967, are you the only who decide this article or not? If we want proof why don't send an e-mail to the actress? Egon Eagle (talk) 20:03, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
According to IMDb she is born 20 febraury 1967, if that is not a relaible source, what's cource do you recommended as realible? Egon Eagle (talk) 15:49, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You should read WP:RS for more information, but generally a secondary source that has high standards in fact-checking (IMDb can be edited by users).--Bbb23 (talk) 16:07, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think that birthadate is realibe. Egon Eagle (talk) 16:30, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Soucie being born in 1967 is as correct as your spelling of the word birthadateRadiohist (talk) 18:38, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Kath Soucie is the best example of mixed up info writen all over the internet. Someone has gone to Wikipedia and made an educated (sort of) guess that her birthdate is 1967, this would be impossible, since Soucie had been a stage performer in the mid-1970s. There was also a story, told by Soucie, in "The Magic Behind The Voices", writen by Tim Hollis, that in 1985, she had been rejected a part in a soap opera, because she had been deemed too old to play one of the daughters. Soucie was born before the 1960s, but also way after the 1910s. All it takes is for one person with screwy information, that it is put on Wikipedia and from then one every site will put it up, that is the evil, frightening and horrific power of Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.204.247.24 (talk) 12:57, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Soucie was probably born around 1954, Intelius has it right most of the times. Yet, there is no positive reference to confirm this; subject has rarely given interviews and every website has scribbled down the 1967 date from Wikipedia. What puzzles the most is why would they tool with her age, since she works in a profession, where the only thing that they are interested in is TALENT. Whether you are 18 or 90, it doesn't matter as long as you can deliver the best vocal acting. Voice actors should be left as they are Radiohist (talk) 11:00, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I could even hint at her being born in 1937 or 1949. Will anyone who knows her personally please clarify, so as to put this question to rest? Thank you very much. WikiPro1981X (talk) 20:02, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I also believe one needs to look up the birth index of people born 1905-1995 and then find the entry for SOUCIE, KATHERINE ELAINE somewhere in that index, and that'll give us our true answer. WikiPro1981X (talk) 05:17, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's not going to be of much help. If you put her name to their search engine, you'll find out that she wasn't born in California, Arizona or Texas. Radiohist (talk) 19:35, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A woman named Kath E Soucie just so happens to live at the same address as Kath E. Soucie, Inc. Online public records unanimously agree that the woman who lives at that address was born on November 18, 1953 or in 1953.

You do the math. Unfortunately, we won't be able to show her birthdate onto Wikipedia because public records aren't allowed for privacy reasons, and without them we won't have anything to cite. But I think we've established that is very likely she was born in 1953. Just that we won't be able to cite it, and thus won't really be able to show it here unless the talk page can come to an agreement to show it. Sausage Link of High Rule (talk) 10:54, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This debate rages on in a slow edit war on the article. Many websites differ on her birthday. Is there a official answer? Like from her or her manager? I am down here because this has spilled over to wiki's on Fandom (website) (I represent Ghostbusters Wiki) . IMDb is flip-flopping on this too (Examples: (1),(2),(3)). Someone be the grown up here and get something together to remedy this. Thank You. Devilmanozzy (talk) 04:59, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's a shame that a properly-sourced date of birth can't be found yet for this person :( Xboxsponge15 (talk) 21:36, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm probably adding fuel to the fire here, but like someone on this page pointed out ten years ago, her only on camera role was in The Incredible Journey Of Doctor Meg Laurel. And that was released on the second day of 1979. Meaning it had to have been filmed in 1978. If Soucie were born in 1967, that would mean she would have been 11 at the time it was filmed. Which really doesn't seem probable. They're many websites quoting her birth year as 1967, but it's only because they're getting it from other websites. Many people seem to rely on google and take the knowledge panel as gospel, but google scrapes info from other sites and doesn't do any fact checking. Lately IMDB has been switching her birth year back and forth between 1953 and 1967. I'm leaning more towards the former. But there's no reliable source anywhere to confirm it. Kcj5062 (talk) 13:22, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clustrmaps and Radaris say she was born in 1953. The location stated on these records usually show where the person currently lives and not where they were born. When I test it the records are right most of the time. I think the source is reliable but Wikipedia doesn't allow primary sources and honestly I agree with that because these sources contain phone numbers. I wouldn't go as far as to say these sources are unreliable, like Wikipedia's policies think, as they are generally correct, except sometimes with outdated addresses, but I do agree with the principle of respecting someone's privacy and linking to pages with phone numbers would be doing the complete opposite of that principle. Sausage Link of High Rule (talk) 21:28, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As such, it'd be iffy to put her birthdate here as even though we technically know it we'd be asked for a secondary source, and there aren't really amy secondary sources, there are only really primary sources (public records) available. Sausage Link of High Rule (talk) 21:30, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Even though Wikipedia doesn't trust primary sources I have found them to be reliable most of the time. The REAL reason we shouldn't have them is for privacy. Sausage Link of High Rule (talk) 21:33, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This likely won't be considered a reliable source by Wikipedia standards, but I found her high school yearbook. She's listed as a senior in 1971 of Valley Forge High School. She was going by Kathy Soucie at the time. https://www.classmates.com/siteui/yearbooks/172775?page=241

It's definitely her. I rewatched the clip of her in Doctor Meg Laurel and she looked how she did in high school. The school is in Parma Heights which is a suburb of Cleveland(where she was born). And she was part of the drama club in high school. Kcj5062 (talk) 16:16, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An Instagram post from the Rugrats show greeting a happy birthday to Kath Soucie was dated on January 20, 2023. (It may be January 19 or 20, but since I live in the Philippines, it displays January 20 for me.) RMXY (talk) 11:26, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dividing tables

[edit]

Excepting external links, this article only has a single section "Filmography and TV roles" with a table describing her roles. This table has distinct divisions: Film, Television Films, Straight-to-video, Live Action Television, Animated Television, and Video Games. I would like to propose that since the table already has this sectioning that we include it in the table of contents and have separate tables in each section which can be edited independently, rather than a long continuous one.

I'll have a go at doing this but my knowledge of tables isn't the best so if I err anywhere I hope someone can fix it. Ranze (talk) 03:55, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
