Which is it?

[edit]

In Design it says they suggested replacing the Kestrel with a DB600 as an interim engine, until the 'final variant' received the Jumo 210. Due to shortages, it was given a 'BMW Hornet engine' (a BMW IV? More detail would be nice. I didn't think BMW made any other inlines anywhere near that power class, and I haven't seen any radial Ju 87s before). Next section, it is saying "These problems were to be resolved by installing the DB 600 engine, but delays in development forced the installation of the Jumo 210 D inverted V-12 engine." So now the Jumo is the interim engine? This is just confusing at best, mistaken at worst.

Looked through some books but none mentioned a DB600. Imagery of V2 does not show a DB600 installed (no port engine air intake). BMW Hornet is the BMW 132 radial engine, a book stating this without proof must be utter garbage. I can't find the DB 600 mentioned again, just claims the Jumo 210A performed poorly in V4 and V2. --Denniss (talk) 17:35, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ju 87G-1 "influencing the design of the A-10 Thunderbolt"

[edit]

The rather lengthy discussion in http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Talk:Fairchild_Republic_A-10_Thunderbolt_II about the influence of Pierre Sprey on the A-X Project and the reliability of Coram 2004 as a source ultimately led to the removal of this claim from the article on the A-10 Thunderbolt.

For the sake of consistency, the claim has been removed from this article as well. MK Regular (talk) 21:13, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Change the photo to a gif ?

[edit]

i think it's better overall for the page and it will be more appealing that the page's photo is a gif

Casualties aboard S.S. Pavon

[edit]

A local Dutch source cites about 50 casualties among Dutch military personnel aboard the S.S. Pavon: https://brabantsegesneuvelden.nl/verhalen/de-scheepsramp-met-de-ss-pavon Thus, although she did apparently carry about 1.500 troops, it's probably inaccurate to say that "most of them" were killed in the attack.
