No page on Sir John Woodroffe is complete without reading Kathleen Taylor's 2001 book, Sir John Woodroffe, Tantra and Bengal. It shows he relied very heavily for his work on A.B. Ghose.

J. P., Kt. of St. Gregory ??

[edit]

Help!? The first sentence under "Life" contains this information about Woodroffe's father - "J. P., Kt. of St. Gregory" - but what does it mean? Was his father knighted? I believe this designation should be clarified. As it stands, it creates a conundrum, amidst an already long awkward sentence lead-in sentence. Thanks!
