Joan van der Waals turned 100 today, Saturday May 2, 2020. See the congratulations from the Royal Academy:

The date "May 12" can be found at various places on the internet, but it must be mistaken. A birthday invitation by the Van der Waals family also states May 2 "Vader hoopt op 2 mei 100 jaar te worden". I have changed the date on the WP page.

Thank you for the addition. I was already doubting the date of birth somewhat since I saw the KNAW-message as well. I managed to find another source which confirms the date of birth as 2 May 2020 and added it to the article. Crispulop (talk) 17:57, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
