Birthplace
[edit]The current birthplace on this stub is listed as "Fielding, New Zealand". No source is given. Brophy has indicated this is incorrect on his verified twitter feed at https://twitter.com/BrophyJed/status/947579491177480193 and the following sources state his birthplace is Taihape, New Zealand:
- Stuff.co.nz (Major New Zealand Newspaper) article http://www.stuff.co.nz/manawatu-standard/news/9525496/Actors-family-rest-and-recharge-in-Taihape - "Brophy was born at Taihape Hospital in 1963"
- http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/CU1312/S00445/barrel-of-laughs-for-shotover-canyon-swing-and-hobbit-actor.htm - "Who's from Taihape"
- http://jimmystarshow.com/guests/jed-brophy-to-guest-on-the-jimmy-star-show-wednesday-october-21st-2015/ - "Jed Brophy was born In Taihape New Zealand"
- http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/afternoons/audio/2585189/eight-months-to-mars-jed-brophy (Major NZ broadcaster) - "He grew up on a farm near Taihape"
It seems sensible that even if there is insufficient certainty to state the birthplace as Taihape, there is sufficient doubt to change the birthplace to "New Zealand" (common to both options and quoted in numerous publications) until a more precise trusted source can be found. - An unregistered editor has added Taihape as the birthplace, and I have added the first of the sources you provided above as an inline citation to support it. Can't see why we wouldn't accept the subject's own authorized Twitter account as a source for this anyway. MPS1992 (talk) 14:07, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
