Founding Section: (POV Check Requested)

[edit]

I added a request for a POV Check in this section. Full Transparency: I am affiliated with the University of Chicago, and hope that unbiased editors may review the issue.

I wanted to call attention to a serivvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvves page revisions that could be considered non-neutral by an unbiased editor. Collectively these edits suggest that the current University of Chicago and the former Old University of Chicago are the same institution. Arguments can (and are) being made about how connected the two entities were historically, but they are separate universities. There are multiple small examples of this activity, but the most evident revisions occurred June 6th 2017: ([[1]], [[2]]).

My resolution to this would be to revert these edits back to their April 2017 versions, but I am not opposed to other editor suggestions. Other small examples of potentially non-neutral revisions are linked here: Jan 14 2018 [[3]], Jun 17 2017, [[4]] — Preceding unsigned comment added by StickerMug (talkcontribs) 02:19, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Old University of Chicago went bankrupt and out of business. The new University of Chicago was a new, separately incorporated institution. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.140.164.120 (talk) 04:01, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
