Relation to depleted uranium
[edit]Could someone explain the relation between this weapon and depleted uranium? Much appreciated, TewfikTalk 06:37, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
israel?
[edit]The sentence,
- Israeli military officials state that other precision-guided munitions have been used to attack Hezbollah facilities in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict.[5]
Has no bearing whatever on the article. It's relevant to say Israel received them, but if they weren't used in Lebanon, there's no point in mentioning it unless there have been claims that it was used. I'll remove this, but I'm aware that this may bend peoples' softer bits out of shape. Feel free to revert, but please let me know. ... aa:talk 21:49, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Likewise, there is no active link to the statement about Syria and Iran. Speculation and not a military source. Moreover, the Telegraph article (mis)cited is from 2004 and about a BLU-109 "dumb bomb" order.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.219.2.99 (talk) 17:00, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
GBU-28 vs GBU-39
[edit]There seems to be some confusion in the last few sentences. The version of the weapon sold to Israel in 2008 for possible use against Hezbollah was the GBU-39, which is the 250-pound model. The GBU-28 is the big boy, a 5,000 pounder. It's sale to Israel was announced in 2005, but it was shipped only recently, or at least that's what the Wikileaks documents imply. Only the best protected of the Iranian nuclear facilities would require such a large weapon. Kauffner (talk) 09:17, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
F-117 Picture
[edit]As far as I know, the F-117 is not capable of carrying the GBU-28, which 2.5 times heavier than the rated hardpoint loading, not to mention probably too large to actually fit in there. More likely to be a GBU-10 or GBU-27. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.202.218.10 (talk) 19:41, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Enhanced GBU-28 confusion
