Merger proposal

[edit]

The article Savinac should be merged into Englezovac, as those are two names for the sam neighborhood. Vanjagenije (talk) 17:37, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some corrections re: Francis Mackenzie

[edit]

It is not correct to say that Mackenzie was a Nazarene - he merely sympathised with their cause (they were persecuted in Serbia), visited them in prison, supported them financially etc. Quoting from the foreword to David Braun, 1898, Komentari k Jevanđeljima, Novi Sad, Štamparija Đorđa Ivkovića, written by its translator, minister of finance and ambassador to the UK, and Mackenzie's personal friend, Čedomilj Mijatović:

"But if I may I would say this much: that he was not a Nazarene, as he was suspected of being by certain people; nor did he belong to any English sect or church; nor did he ever, in any way, work in Serbia and among the Serbs in the interests of propaganda of any sort."

Mackenzie was also more closely tied to the Plymouth Brethren. I do not have time to dig out these sources, but just leaving this here. 188.2.20.50 (talk) 08:56, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
