Darren L. Beattie: Job in current life

[edit]

Hi Mr. White

I am writing you because I am wondering if my life would make a movie that would give a reason to hope, encourage, and inspire Christians to seek out Jesus no matter what the cost.

I am 50 and am slow due to my car accident in both writing and speech; however I have had the call on my life since the age of 13, and He confirmed it with a calling on my life at the age of 14. Funny thing, God never told me what was the calling on my life. So with this new calling I proceeded to find out what He was calling me to which I ended up with pastoring the youth, Maybe I was influenced by the book, The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson.

So then I began working incredibly hard at preparing to be a youth pastor. Over the next 4 years, I accomplished quite a resume of preaching 5-minute sermonettes for the youth, was entered into competitions at Youth Ralleys, fall and winter retreats, and summer camps which I won first prize in a camp in 1986.

I continued in my growth spiritually until I was just a few weeks away from my graduation from Calvary Christian School in E. Ferry, NH. I had a dream that night which I couldn’t wake up out of. In that dream I was in a hospital bed unable to talk or move. When I finally woke up (double the time that I normally sleep) it shocked me down to my core but didn’t say anything.

My graduation and birthday (6/3/89 & 6/10/89) came and went with me looking forward to start my serious training to be a youth pastor at Southeastern College of Assemblies of God in Lakeland, Fl. Yet on the morning of June 28th, I had a horrific car accident on a highway after being up over 24 hours and just finishing a overnight shift as an unarmed security guard.

My dream or nightmare came true to my surprise since I have an head injury. I spent a month in a coma and several months in a rehab hospital. In the beginning stages of my stay at the rehab hospital I said a prayer that went something like this: “God, I don’t like this dream. PLEASE get me out of it and I expect tomorrow morning when I wake up that I’ll be in my room. If this is real, though, give me the strength to overcome this situation that I find myself in. In Jesus name, Amen!”

Go to TrueLifeChristianity.com to see my story on the page, “Running With Christ. . . Something Personal To Help You ‘Go Into All The World’.”

I hope you go and look at it and maybe go forward.

In Jesus Christ’s name,

Darren L. Beattie, BA, MSHS 2603:3005:2578:8000:CD59:D6F1:4752:8ECC (talk) 16:12, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
