Assessment of Article Draft
[edit]Revisions necessary
You're off to a good start, but you need to make some revisions and add more content before you move your material to mainspace.
Here are a few notes:
- Your footnotes should come at the end of a sentence, not the beginning. Moreover, it is not always clear what information the footnotes are referring to, and some information does not seem to be supported by secondary sources (for instance, her rap group).
- Citations: you do not need to list the month/day in the publication dates for books (only the year). For your 4th reference, African Immigrants in Contemporary Spanish Texts: Crossing the Strait, please cite this as an edited collection, and please identify a chapter (with page numbers) to specify where the information is taken from. You have some excellent sources and you should cite them more throughout your entry. You should have more than 4 footnotes.
- You've included a "References External links" section pointing both to your director's IMDB page and an external link to the the Wiki page for IMDB (you do not need to include the latter). Including a link to her IMDB page is sufficient as an "External link." (it's also not clear what this reference is pointing to in your entry since clicking on [1] only brings you to her IMDB page.
- Finally, your page is a bit too short. You need to add more prose (you currently have approximately 320 words) to get to 500 words.
- Also, I suggest rewording "normal people" to non-professionals (or non-professional actors).

Peer Review
[edit]Your article is well-written and informative. Your tone stays neutral throughout the writing, which is essential when writing a Wikipedia article. However, some of the information feels incomplete, or that it could be expanded upon. For example, you could provide more information in the career section. Have any of her films won awards or been featured at film festivals? Did anything special happen during the years the films were released? Has she worked on any projects in the meantime, or does she have any upcoming projects? You could also expand on the sources used, if possible, and make sure your citations are complete. Finally, you could add more information about her directorial style. How does this continue throughout all of her films? Are they any other examples of her using low-budget shooting techniques, or talking about social issues within her films? Hellotrickster (talk) 05:35, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Good work on your article, it is well organized and written in a neutral manner. The information about her directing is enlightening. However, it is important to make clear why this filmmaker and her films are notable. Have her films received awards or recognition? What do people say about her films? If there are interviews with Gutiérrez or if she has an IMDb etc, they could be linked in your external links section or referred to in the article. I changed "film-making" to "filmmaking" throughout to the article and made a few minor grammatical changes. Cue95 (talk) 23:30, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
