Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... Please allow the article to be reviewd by the AfC editor before action is taken to delete it. The article was moved from AfC only a few minutes ago. Patience is a virtue! Sionk (talk) 19:07, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NB the article must be substantially different from the state it was in at previous deletion debates, because the second tournament started only last week. Considering the tournament is now in its second season it seems to me it has become an established event. With the ample news and television coverage it must surely satisfy WP:GNG. Notability is not based the standard of cricket being played, but based on significant independent coverage. Sionk (talk) 21:20, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I hate having to say this, but I think that you are correct regarding GNG/no longer a single event. I wish that you were not because this is pathetic & an example of just how the "encyclopaedia" bit of Wikipedia gets lost in celebrity cruft & star-crazed, semi-competent contributions. But rules are rules, I guess. - Sitush (talk) 21:36, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Should not be deleted

[edit]

We expect Wikipedia to be comprehensive. A celebrated event like CCL in India should not even be considered for Deletion. Stars from 4 South Indian States, Bollywood, Bengal etc are there. Are they not important enough for Wikipedia. Millions of people supporting the event may not make it great, but certainly makes it interesting & noticeable. Should be in Wikipedia

Cyberbot II has detected links on Celebrity Cricket League which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. Teams and performance

[edit]

If the competition only started in 2011, how come we have results back to 1986? And none of this is sourced- is it even correct for the post-2011 years? My knowledge of this tournament is almost zero, but their own website [1] only seems to show a T10 tournament in 2019, and nothing since- despite there being 2020 results listed for T10 and T20.
