I am temporaliy moving this article from Bradenton Pirates to Future Pittsburgh Pirates Class A Bradenton Team. I have found two articles written in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review that state that the new name of this team will not be the Bradenton Pirates, and that a new team nickname will be forthcoming. Therefore we can not call them the Bradenton Pirates.

Downgrade the amount of Tampa and Sarasota information

[edit]

The Sarasota White Sox/Red Sox/Reds already have a page for their team, as do the Tampa Tarpons. While the Marauders can trace their roots back to 1957, the modern incarnation of the team was established in 2010. As with all other Florida State League teams in this scenerio, the titles from the Tampa Tarpons and the Sarasota teams should only be noted for those teams. Therefore the Marauders information should be prevalent, however a previous franchise history that traces the teams roots back to 1957 can be noted, but they are technically not the same team.--Pennsylvania Penguin (talk) 20:02, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To the contrary, they technically ARE the same team, or more precisely the same franchise (just as the Nationals are the Expos franchise and the Twins are the 1901 Senators franchise and the Rangers are the 1961 Senators franchise, etc). An incarnation of a franchise either "is" or "is not" traced to another incarnation in its history. Indeed, the Marauders are directly traced to the Tarpons. As such, it is not historically accurate to not include the previous championships (and any other warranted similar information) within the info box. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.64.122.52 (talk) 01:02, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
