RFC - Where is he now?

[edit]

His occupation is not listed nor is anything about him in the last few years. Is he in a relationship? Is he currently a lawyer, a businessman, a budding politician? Where does he live now? Is he still in China? The last time this article speaks about Bo Guagua is from 2016. That's four years ago. What has he been up to in the last few years? This article has to be updated. @Factfanatic1: That is not a RfC matter. Please read WP:RFCBEFORE and only raise an RfC if other avenues are exhausted. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:39, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My suggestion here would be to add the {{update}} template to the article if you feel there are updates which need to be made, but it looks like you've already done that. If the subject hasn't been mentioned in reliable sources since then though, it's possible there isn't anything to update. :) stwalkerster (talk) 00:03, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What has he been doing since 2016? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 19:17, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bo's 'fake award'

[edit]

According to the article:

The award's full name is: EF∙Royal Cornell 2009 Big Ben Award and Ten Outstanding Chinese Young Persons Selection in the UK Charity Ceremony.

According to Taiwan Apple Daily newspaper, the award he won was entirely fake.[19]

On May 9th of 2009, a charity organisation registered in UK - British Chinese Youth Federation (BCYF http://www.bcyf.org.uk/) which the web site stopped operating after this award was given.

And yet, the link on BCYF works and was updated recently this year? and the Big Ben Award for Outstanding Chinese Young Persons Selection appears to be a real award?

The Apple Daily article in this instance doesn't seem to be factual, as they have been continously doling out awards since Bo received his. I know that CCP officials and their offspring are often caught perceived as padding their biographies, but this is one instance where that doesn't seem to be the case. Murder in lead

[edit]

I have inserted reference to the murder conviction of Gu Kailai into lead. I have also made reference to it further down the article. The murder is the reason for the existence of this article since it led to extensive coverage of the whole family including the subject. Emmentalist (talk) 07:42, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Further editing

[edit]

I have edited to try to improve the article (see above) but the article is arguably too weak to improve properly. It might be better to WP:AfD? The subject is simply the son of a formerly prominent Chinese couple and who was once the subject of gossip and trivial, albeit mainstream, news reportage. The subject has no other reason for notability. Arguably, the coverage does not pass the WP:Notability thresholds. I will wait to see if other editors have a view Emmentalist (talk) 08:01, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
