We do not know this man's motives. Yes, it looks like he befriended rich men for the money, but since we do not know the specific nature and ingredients of those relationships, it is not appropriate to definitely label him a gold digger in the lead of the article. I am removing it now. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:52, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay i am so sick of people changing him from serial to spree back and forth. He was a serial killer due to the time in between murders (5 victims within an 80-day span). I'll admit he did have spree killer qualities (impulsive behavior and committing suicide) but some serial killers also do this (it's not exclusive to spree killers). Also people argue over whether or not he was an assassin. I don't believe he was since assassins have religious, political, military, or financial motives. I'll admit Versace was a prominent figure, but Cunanan's motives were never established. I suppose the first two murders could qualify as a spree killing, but still the rest happened in serial fashion. OmniFrieza994 (talk) 14:50, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you about the serial killings, and about Cunahan not being an assassin, but not about your description of an assassination. The murder of any public official (note: not any celebrity) qualifies as an assassination, no matter what the more detailed motive is. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 14:59, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for the delayed response. I'm glad you agree with what i'm trying to convey. I was just using what i read on Wikipedia's article. Point being he wasn't a spree killer or an assassin. But some people just don't seem able to accept that. OmniFrieza994 (talk) 23:20, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just curious if more information can be attributed to this topic. I've recently been reading this article in conjunction with watching the Netflix The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story series. I understand the series was based on Maureen Orth's novel. But it seems there was more about Andrew's life that's missing. He apparently have 3 other siblings, none of their names mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steppinthrax (talk • contribs) 18:10, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
