More sections of Treaty needed
[edit]What's here is only the preamble; the goodies came out on Oct 20, 1903 and are on the WikiSource page, and ideally a map should illustrate the treaty either here or in Wikisource, especially the key areas, the A-B Line, Portland and Pearse Canals, and the respective boundaries claimed around the Yukon ports. I'll see if I can come up with a way to condense the clauses of the resolution to a point form "Effects" or "Outcome", with a bit more geographic specifics than are here currently; a ref to the Alaska Boundary Dispute page isn't quite enough.Skookum1 05:07, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Please see RE BC & Pacific Northwest History Forum re: Talk:List of United States military history events#Border Commission troops in the Pacific Northwest. If you think maybe I should also move some or copy some of my other stuff from NW history and BC history pages let me know; I never mean to blog, but I'm voluble and to me everything's interconnected; never meaning to dominate a page so have made this area to post my historical rambles on. Thoughts?Skookum1 03:49, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Most common usage re name
[edit]The Hay-Hebert Treaty title to me seems to be US-history oriented and is very specific to individuals who negotiated/signed the treaty. But it's MUCH more widely known as the Alaska Boundary Treaty or, less so, the Alaska Boundary Settlement. IMO the titles should be reversed; what, after all, are people going to more likely search for?Skookum1 (talk) 16:47, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]Someone started a merge proposal. Looks good to me; but in the meantime I'll do the name change suggested above. Dicklyon (talk) 18:58, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
