Twitchen House Holiday Park is a caravan style resort in Woolacombe, North Devon. It is apart of Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks alongside, Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village, Easewell Farm and formerly Golden Coast (Before the sale of the resort)

It is a family orientated and has many facilities that are catered for children/families including, a park, an entertainment venue, an arcade, an outdoor and indoor pool, a climbing wall and many nature walks.

Ownership

Twitchen House is family-run by the Lancaster family, who run all Woolacombe bay parks and the Woolacombe Bay Hotel. The current owner is Rudi Lancaster.

New Caravans

All accommodation at Twitchen House is caravans, with some touring and camping pitches. After the sale of Golden Coast Holiday Park, the Lancasters' decided to invest millions into Twitchen House and Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village, replacing & renovating every caravan into brand new caravans.

Woolacombe Bay Shuttle Busses

Due to unknown reasons, Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks ceased operations of the Shuttle bus service which allowed holidaymakers to travel between the parks and Woolacombe town. This service was very popular and was in operation since the 1980s.

History

Twitchen House Holiday Park has an Edwardian manor sitting in the centre of the complex, connected to the reception area. All entrances display a strictly no entry sign and it is unclear what the building is used for at this time. Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks have been operating Twitchen House Holiday Park since 1979 and each park has seen many renovations and refurbishments throughout its time.

Sale of neighbouring park Golden Coast

In 2021 Verdant Leisure purchased the resort for an undisclosed amount from Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks.

A spokesperson from Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks stated that the sale occurred because "Golden Coast was bringing in a quarter of our revenue but was using over half of our time and resources - so we decided to sell it to focus more on Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village, Twitchen House and Easewell Farm. The Lancasters also had no free time so they were glad to have some time back to themselves!"

Location

Twitchen House is on the North Devon coast, officially in Mortehoe however many people recognise it as in Woolacombe. It lies on Mortehoe Station Road, just off the B3343 and is next to a National Trust nature reserve. The location is quite rural and lacks many nearby amenities, so inflation on the park can be quite high.
