Zulqarnain Haider (actor)
Zulqarnain Haider is a Pakistani Comedian, Actor,Director and TV drama writer, and stage artist. He is known for TV dramas like 'Haqeeqat', "Koshish", "Chhayon", "Help Me Durdana", Qismat Ka Likha, and others.
Career
[edit]Zulqarnain's artistic career started in the late 1970s. He shared stage with comedians like Umer Sharif. In his fifty years long career, he scripted a number of plays and directed several popular TV dramas. He got his main breakthrough from his own written TV play, "Koshish" in the mid-1980s. Then in the PTV drama "Chhayon" (1988), his pet dialogue, "Alkamoonia mein to aisa nahein hota", became very popular.[1][2][3][4] Zulqarnain Haider was born in Karachi in 1959 and received his education from Karachi University. His artistic career began in 1973 with theater in Karachi. Since then, he has also showcased his talent in TV, radio, and films, working with all major TV centers in Pakistan, including Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and others. He has performed in theaters across almost all major cities in Pakistan and has shared the stage with renowned actors and comedians like Umer Sharif, Moin Akhtar, Javaid Sheikh, Shafi Mohammad Shah, and others, exhibiting his artistic brilliance. Throughout his fifty-year artistic career, he has written several dramas and directed famous TV dramas.

Zulqarnain Haider has been honored with the Nigar Award twice, the Graduate Award twice, the Public Award thrice, the Radio Drama Award five times, and the Pakistan Television Award twice (first for the drama serial "Koshish" and second for the drama "Woh Aaye Ghar Hamare "). Moreover, he has been awarded a Gold Medal from Abbottabad and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Peshawar, and his coronation ceremony was also conducted with great dignity in Multan.
