Wilkanowo [vilkaˈnɔvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Świdnica, within Zielona Góra County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north-east of Świdnica and 6 km (4 mi) south-west of Zielona Góra.
History
[edit]The oldest known mention of the village comes from 1305, when it was part of Piast-ruled Poland.
In 1838, lignite deposits were discovered in the village.[2]
