Notability criteria for layouts

[edit]

The following are tagged with {{Notability}}

I'd suggest that a model rail layout is notable if it satisfies one of these criteria:

  • A reasonable number of people who are not rail modellers have heard of it (the ones I've put notable next to all satisfy this criteria)
  • It was significant in the development of the hobby - (Pendon may satisfy this too)

The Gorre & Daphetid definitely fits the second criteria of notability. StevenOtte (talk) 19:42, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The following categories have the word railway or railroad in. Can we rename them so that they don't use either?

Task force icon

[edit]

I've been working through a couple of updates to {{TrainsWikiProject}} lately and the icon we're using for this task force (at right) has been bugging me. The subject is too small to see what it really is at this size, but I haven't found another that is appropriate to use in this context yet. Has anyone else found a better candidate? Need help finding RS for 2 gauge

[edit]

I've been working on Carlisle & Finch, trying to get it up to GA standards. One of my stumbling blocks is finding good WP:RS for the toy trains section, specifically for C&F introducing 2 gauge track and, Voltamp, Knapp, and Howard adopting it. The best sources look like a series of books by Louis Heilbroner Hertz, but I've been unable to find any of them. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:51, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
